Once you have a decent set-up of Turbo Track it's quite fun for [STRIKE]Fire Fox[/STRIKE] men to reconfigure .... we are up to two full sets, three straight add ons and a flashing ball! As I have an L-shaped hall Noah and I feel there is room for further additions.
I've added a Turbo Track to the very top of my Things I Am Going To Buy As Soon As I've Got a Job list. Thank you very much Fire Fox!!0 -
Wow i just read this thread for the first time and the new about Guinness has stunned me i was awaiting a happy ending regarding Dr Gonzo being reunited with his family, i really feel for you and i know the pain you are feeling, i got 2 kittens when i was 17yrs old and the first one died when he was 11 and the second aged 17, it broke my heart and i thought i could never get a cat again as losing them was unbearable, im happy to say i now have 2 eight month old kittens/cats who i have done everything i can to make sure if they are hurt or lost i can be contacted with them being microchiped, netured and also insured incase of accidents, RIP Guinness xMum of 2 adorable children & 2 cheeky cats who were born on 23.04.2009 :rotfl:0

Same as the last couple of posters, I've just read through the entire thread and the smiles turned to tears when I read about poor Guinness, you must both be devastated
I know it might sound a bit strange but I strongly believe Dr Gonzo was sent to you by a guardian angel to help you overcome your terrible loss. You wouldn't immediately have considered looking for another cat as a friend for Pumpkin, but Dr Gonzo had already made his presence felt and I'm very sure he's here to stay“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Just to update you all, we've had Dr Gonzo in with us for about 4 days, and he's still cramming food in his head (3-4 packets of whiskers per evening..). Once he's eaten, he just wants to go out, so we decided to send him on his merry way this morning.. i think he thought he'd been taken prisoner:rotfl: He seemed fairly purposeful in taking the path left, so maybe that's the way home..
He also has a patch of fur missing on his neck; we assumed it was eczema, but it feels slightly rough like it's been shaved (?) .. I still get the feeling he has an owner but whoever they are, they're not calling. I've printed off some notes to that effect which we'll post around the neighbourhood this evening. They may well find their cat gets rehomed if they don't call us soon!
No matching cats on any of the websites or in the local shop, noone seems to have noticed his absence so far.. all v strange.
He's more comfortable with us and getting around the house, but I'm not convinced he's getting along so well with Pumpkin. Maybe it's just a matter of time. We'll stick it out for a few more weeks probably, and if they're really still not happy, and if no one claims him, maybe it it would be best to find him a nice home of his own to live in, we don't want the poor things traumatised.
Ps, Photobucket account set up, so I'll post some pics later on x0 -
This really reminds me of my Henry (see avatar). He was such a starving stray when he came to me as I mentioned before. Like Dr Gonzo Henry stuffed himself silly with any food he was offered. I got the impression that he was eating as much as he could when he could because he was so used to starving for days between meals. He hoovered up everything put in front of him. It wasn't until the day that he walked away and left food in his bowl that I knew he felt safe with me and trusted that there would be food provided for him next time he was hungry. Maybe Dr Gonzo is doing the same with you?
I should imagine Pumpkin will take a few weeks to get used to Dr Gonzo being around. They will need to sort out the pecking order in the household, but once that is established I'd bet my bottom dollar that they will get on like best buddies.
I'm really looking forward to seeing pictures later.:)0 -
I do hope they start to get along but you really have been doing a fab job so far. As Dr Gonzo is not neutered he is probably trying to dominate Pumpkin at the moment.
Im looking forward to the piccys too!:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
Henry looks sooo much like my Guinness!
And sounds a lot like Da Gonz! He had 4 boxes of whiskers last week... all gone now
Gonzo came back for food and sleep last night, we honestly thought he might have gone home.. but there he was as usual! He seems much less agitated now he's been allowed out so we'll probably keep doing that for a bit. Pumpkin was most offended to see him back again, he was getting all the fusses up to that pointStill they seem ok together so far. Not exactly bezzie friends, but tolerated!
Oh and Pumpkin has an awesome new toy, a mouse which makes realistics squeaks when batted, there's definitely a YouTube vid in there somewhere
And we're also seriously considering installing a cat proof fence soon, secure-a-kat seems to get good reviews on here, not too expensive for the peace of mind (and peace in general!!) it would give.0 -
my cats have one of those mouses.. not sure if it sounds more like a mouse or a bird.... keeps my 7yr old amused too!Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0

The Blue Cross are proposing to close the rescue centre in Felixstowe Suffolk claiming that this is not for financial reasons but to enable them to buid a larger centre in the North West enabling them to help 20% more animals.
This will leave Suffolk without a centre, a situation that we cannot contemplate.
Last year the Centre rehomed over 400 dogs and cats.
Please show your support for the Centre by joining our Facebook Group entitled "Save Felixstowe's Blue Cross".
Your support would be so greatly appreciated.
Thankyou so much.I'm wondering why a round pizza comes in a square box - :rolleyes:0
