Help! Sad kitty at my door :(

Hi, don't own a cat and have no clue whatsoever about them, and first time posting to the pets board, but I've been watching this topic and I'm very sorry about Guinness, and hope Dr Gonzo and Pumpkin continue to get on well

God put me on Earth to acomplish a certain number of things.
Right now I am so far behind I will probably never be allowed to die!0 -
And in a bizarre twist of fate, Pumpkin seems to have accepted Dr Gonzo, his one day as a only cat was maybe not as much fun as he thought it might be, so they're now sleeping on the sofa together. Maybe he thinks it's just Guinness with a new haircut or something..
Aw, that is so sweet. Lucky Dr Gonzo0 -
I've just read through the whole thread eagerly readng each post and then suddenly there is the tragic post about poor Guinness. So sorry to hear the news.
It's so sad when things like this happen - sometimes it doesn't seem fair.0 -
Poor Guinness
RIP
Both my cats were run over (at different times!)...one died (RIP KatyKat), and Jibba lost one of his front legs (now rechristened Jibbaroo coz of how he pegs about!)...i really feel for you. I hope Dr Gonzo tempers the pain somewhat, and totally agree with Little Chicken
Synchronicity ey...

i wish I could thank some of you many times over! I'm really sorry this story didn't go the way we all hoped, it was clearly as much of a shock to you as it was to us.. but I'm happy there's so many people who care about our boys, and about sad lost kitties everywhere
we've arranged for a little cremation all of his own (he would have hated to share), so he'll be back with us soon. It's been a tough weekend, but we're coming through it and just remembering all the fun he brought to our lives; how he used to like sitting on the windowsill making huffing noises at birds ..:D the time I brought him in scared from a storm bundled up in my coat, even though he was only at the end of the garden :rotfl:.. and how he sat on the edge of the bath every morning giving me head butts while I brushed my teeth
but most of all his big old meow when he wanted out, in, food or cuddles. Even though Pumpkin is a big bundle of daftness and Gonzo is making his presence known, Guinness was my special little sausage, and it's way too quiet without him.:(
Well, anyway.. Pumpkin is doing well, and we're considering keeping him in as a house cat now, or at least cat proofing the garden. Although he likes to go out sometimes, he never stays out for long and seems content to be mainly indoors.. in fact he's not been out since Friday, although it will be a different story in the spring I'm sure. I might need to start a new thread about entertaining indoor kitties!! We've been looking at cat trees, cat shelves, cat fencing, even fish tanks (cat tv!), so we might need tips for entertaining potentially bored kitties.
And an update for you on Da Gonz of course ... obviously we didn't get to put out any notices so far, so we still need to thoroughly advertise before we can officially adopt / neuter. But he's getting along *ok* with Mr Poopykins, they stood nose to nose yesterday over a bowl of food with no growling, and they're free to roam around the house on their own together now. So I think we can almost say it's a success, much easier than we'd envisaged..with that one exception of course
and thank you all again for your kind messages, I'm really bowled over :A0 -
We've got a cat that were the secondary owner of. Its actually owner don't have a cat flap and they oversly don't feed enough so he comes to ours as he the only local cta that figured out how to open the cat flap. He a friendly thing and likes to "talk" where as our cat is semi feral and we don't see much of her so were happy to have him around I think the only reason he goes back to his actually owners is that is his territory.0

Definitely agree with Firefox re: the turbo track - my two love it & it's great for when your a bit too busy to play witht hem.
Missy & Coco also love laser pens, I bought mine off ebay for about £2.50 and they go wild for it (although my walls do take a bit of a battering with all the running jumps at it).
Mine also love balls (if they've got catnip inside they are destroyed within seconds) I often just ball up newspaper & throw that across the room.
Also, if you are prepared for strange looks perhaps you could harness train Pumpkin & take him out for walks?:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
Once you have a decent set-up of Turbo Track it's quite fun for [STRIKE]Fire Fox[/STRIKE] men to reconfigure .... we are up to two full sets, three straight add ons and a flashing ball! As I have an L-shaped hall Noah and I feel there is room for further additions.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

wow, i have read the whole post.. laughed, cried and laughed again. I'm sorry for your loss but pleased for your gain, in life sometimes these things are meant to be!
:ABe who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0
