My broadband only 343kbps!!

Broadband speed tests seem pretty hopeless. I tried a couple recently and they produced similar results, both saying that my connection was half the speed I could actually download myself at. Try installing NetMeter, it produces results that match my observed download speeds. Don't forget you're likely to get slower speeds at peak times.

What speed do you pay for? You currently are experiencing speeds of 2.7Mb/s or 343 KB/s

You really need to double that (1GB) to run XP smoothly.
crucial.com is your friend, use the System Scanner.
