I always complain about slow broadband!!
My friend brought his laptop and connected to my internet and ran the watchdog speed test and said "wow wish I had your speed" - which on his laptop reached 6mb.
Running the same test on my computer I only got 343 kbps which he says is awful.... have done defrag and deleted cookies etc and doesnt help.

Just asking is there anything I can do to improve this ??

Thank you (again)!!

Maybe you'd get some help if you told us about your broadband provider, advertised (potential) speed and equipment?

Defrag and deleting cookies will make no difference.

Defrag and cleaning cookies wouldn't effect your broadband speed

Have you tried updating drivers for your network card? failing that try another network card very cheap to buy

    • Put the router on yr BT master socket. (basic of all things)
    • Get a BT Accelerator (i-plate) for the phone line. (Might Help.)
    • Make sure all filters on each phone socket in house!
    • Use a Lan to the router (No wireless!)

From my understanding its not the router or modem at fault as op said they tried it with a friends laptop and it was fine so issue may be with there pc

    So many questions!!
    Broadband provider - BT
Same speed whether connecting directly by cable to i plate or wireless.
House only has one telephone socket and computer is about 6 foot away.
Have performed a full scan with Kaspersky.
Also have used tune up 1 click maintenance to optimise system which came with the Kaspersky package.

Hope this answers everything above and gives you info you need ..........thanks.
