Little !!!!!!!. Ex of mine has got not only my name, dob AND email addy (that I don't use as much anymore - easy to get as he refused to redirect mail) has got me into debt on a catalogue. This piece of vermin also physically and verbally harassed me, threatening to beat me up and rape me. I need to get a letter from my old landlady (whom I don't have contact with - so I'll have to find someway of doing it) so they'll write off the nearly £250 debt he's got into IN MY NAME. I don't want aymore to do with him - I don't need to contact him at all, just prove I wasn't at the place he was.

elfen, that is fraud - what your ex has done, i think you should tell the police.

IA, scaredy, I don't want anything more to do with him. Can't remember his name (so police is out) but he's a right alkie and very strange, thinks he's hard. I'll get this sorted, not involving him, and tell them if anyone tries to open an account, they need to phone me. All I need to do is send a letter proving I wasn't there....think Pint will be able to help me there - mainly cos I broke down on the phone.

ETA: doesn't help I'd lived in a hostel too, so it could be literally anyone who lived there and who used the PC after me.....

For now, I'm going to try not to think about it, or I'll get upset.

Already said to Pint, and since at the time of it being taken out I stayed at his 4 or 5 nights a week, or was at my house (probably more like 6 or 7 nights to be honest) and he called then !!!!!!!s. Told him it's so easy to do things, just go on the PC after someone using MSN, get their email....have their number on your phone (a few had it at hostel - but it was a PAYG and I got rid after my other ex got hold of it and threatened me) and know your birthday and age....it's so easy to !!!! someone over with only a few details. And then the person being !!!!ed over only knows about it when they try sorting things out or needs a big thing and tries a catalogue/card with the place and finds out. I doubt the police would do anything as it was over a year and a half ago. And it was from a place where big ladies shop - and at the time I was a 12!

Elfen, you might have to go to the police, otherwise the company might not believe it's fraud.

Wow, I just pressed the tv 'on' button, and it turned on! No waiting for 2 minutes for it to warm up, then having to press a button on the set to turn off the eastern european language menu on the screen, bliss!

I'm slightly less happy with the OU since I got my last essay mark, it's all my own fault - I misunderstood the question, then chose the wrong way to structure my answer (the teacher didn't see any structure in it at all!). Didn't help that I also didn't really understand where some of the people we were reading about were coming from. So in future I need to realise it's ok to ask if I don't understand something! It never occurred to me to do that cos of it being distance learning.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
