Morning all!:D
jc - good luck at court today - dont worry about car, i'm getting shot of my poor old fiesta this week as the cost of repair is not worth the value, and I could buy a much newer one, will be sad to see it go though I've had it for 15 years so cant complain it's been a great little car!
Just reading the thread and chopping some carrot & onion for bolognaise sauce for tonite.
Had a big clear out yesterday, some to the tip, some for school jumble sale (to raise money for Haiti fund) and I've got some sega mega drive games to list on ebay - one of them is Michael Jackson Moonwalker which I see is going for around £12!!! - just a shame I missed the free listing day the other week!:o
Now got to make some phone calls for best prices for scrap and get the car picked collected asap.
tiredmum - shame you didnt make it - you needn't have worried I would have bought have you drink!
ivyleaf - Have a great holiday!:)
enjoy your day everyone!:)0 -

Afternoon all
Someone asked yesterday - no, I've not been to Northumberland before, but a friend of ours (Molly Dog's owner) went with his family last year and had been waxing lyrical about it, so we thought we'd give it a try. We can't go to the same property our friend stayed in, as stairs are not my friends, but there are self-catering holiday places near Alnwick Castle, and one is a 2-person place, suitable for disabled, so that's where we're going.:)
OS wise, I'm glad the Flylady list is fairly easy today, as I'm a tad washed out (always am on Mondays, probably try to fit too much into the weekend). Dins tonight will be a swift Sausage Inna Bun, as we have to attend the CAMRA AGM. I really don't want to go, but we've not been attending the branch meeting lately, and I do know that the venue tonight is wheelchair-friendly, so we ought to put in an appearance.
I had to laugh about people being told they should wear their hair shorter - I have the opposite problem; I'd like to take a good 6 inches off mine, but Mr LW won't hear of it. Oh, and before anyone says to just go ahead and do it, the complication there is that he does my hair for me, as I can't cope with a hairdresser.:rotfl:
He's got to colour my hair for me some time this week; probably Wednesday, as he's on early shift and w*rking from home that day.
Anyways, I've rattled on enough, so ((((HUGS)))) for all who want/need one today, and I hope everyone's having a good Monday. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi,
Lamewolf - Alnwick gardens are beautiful. You'll be within reach of Cragside and Wallington (both NT). You could also visit Hadrians Wall. I don't live that far away - if you let me know what sort of things you like doing I may be able to make some suggestions.
So far today I have- Defrosted the fridge
- Bought Food shopping for the week
- Emptied the bins
- Instructed a solicitor for a house purchase
Dinner tonight will be left over beef from yesterday - either as a chilli or as cornish pasties. Better get moving, HUGS to all that need them!0 -

Alnwick Castle is lovely, although I can't rememebr how wheelchair friendly it is. The gardens should be OK for you, and apparently the water gardens are spectactular. Bamburgh castle is another spectacular place with a huge wild beach if you can get onto sand, also very pretty for a beer or two! Warkworth castle has a wheelchair ramp and there are lots of areas to see in & around Kielder Forest (Forestry Commission land) and all the roman sites around Hadrians Wall & Vindolanda. Lindisfarne is very peaceful to visit for a beer, again I'm not sure about access to the castle (National Trust though, so I will have a look!) or the abbey. Are you NT members?0 -

Mr LW was trying to do a bit of research online, and I know Wallington was one of the names he mentioned.
We like peace and quiet, visiting historical places (we spent a lot of our time on Orkney last year scratting around ancient tombs:D), decent Real Ale, good food (we're wanting to eat out in the evenings; I'm veggie, Mr LW is not), gardens, museums - really, anything I can manage in the wheelchair, or on a good day, using two walking sticks.:)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Oh, Cragside is lovely!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
