Hi JC,
Good luck with court. It really is a mother's worst case scenario but Im hoping that it will get sorted quickly. Dont worry about the car. My two eldest dont have one and have to rely on buses and lifts from friends. We live in a rural area but I cant afford to run a car for them and they do manage ok (despite protesting to the contrary)!!!I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Big ((HUGS)) to jc for the court today- wish I could offer more practical support, but am thinking of you. Cars are such a drain on the finances - we seldom find the right moment to walk away before the repairs bill gets too big, so you have my sympathy on that front too.
Had lovely day with my cousins on Saturday - they both fell in love with the market town where we live! Also liked the HM soup and bread we had for lunch! DH cooked in the evening and that went down well too.
Heard yesterday that DS and partner may have found a slightly cheaper flat - fingers and toes crossed on that one. They could rent a 3 bedroomed house around here for literally half of what they pay in London for their small flat!
Need to get the marmalade done (should have done it on Friday, but got side-tracked as usual. Almost finished today's housework jobs and need to get to the gym in half an hour. Paperwork needs doing today. If I can deal with that I'll be well pleased!
Hope you all have a good day. Take care.Resolution:

Hi everyone! I'm not feeling great atm so have been reading but not posting - thinking of you all though
This is kind of a "hello and goodbye" as we are off to New Zealand tomorrow for almost 7 weeks - not leaving until tomorrow afternoon, but may not have time to come on here during the day.
I'm in the middle of taking up 3 pairs of trousers for the trip - quite odd, as I had to do the same last time we were going away, last summer - but that time it was trousers I'd had for ages but never got around to taking them upThis time it's new ones!
((((HUGS)))) to all in need, especially jc today, and MSD/Tris/Michelle
Bye for now!0 -
morning darlings!
I'm pretending to be wide awake and cheerful to see if it helps! DH had the alarm set for 6 this morning, as he goes East for the week on Monday mornings. I've not settled since. As I didn't get to sleep till about midnight and I need about 10 hours sleep at the moment, 6am is the middle of my night. I've had to come down as I'm expecting a parcel of sewing to do and didn't want to miss postie.
Food sorted for today, as there is left over carrot & coriander soup from yesterday lunch and lamb casserole left from yesterday dinner. ALso leftover rice pud mmm. I'm hoping to be away tomorrow night, so ds will be on his own, so he can have casserole. He's on packed tea today, as we have a UCAS meeting at school and he's staying on after school for a music rehearsal. I hope I can stay awake for this meeting. If it's warm in the school theatre and they put the lights down I'll have no chance! It's sewing club tonight so I will miss that. Have missed the last 2 or 3.
Hester I've gone deaf in one ear. I can imagine how frustrating it is for both! It happened to me big style once, both ears for about 3 weeks. Hope you get it sorted soon.
Right! I'm going to have breakfast and then see how much clearing up I can do before the postman arrives! Have a good day,"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Morning all
Quick one this morning, as we have a busy day ahead of us. Thankfully it doesn't require much walking as taxis will take us where we need to go.
First off, my disaster
We had roast pork yesterday, so with the leftovers, I thought I would mince it for pork curry or burgers for tonight.
Anyway, the attachment to the mincer got stuck after I had finished, so when I tried to pull it out, some of the pork shot out with it - over the floor, the sideboard, in my tea:D:D
So, onto today
The girls have got fencing this afternoon, followed by kick-boxing, then onto a birthday party, so 6 taxis
It's times like this I wish I could drive!
Hope everyone has a good day and (((HUGS))) to those in need
I just thought aaarrrrggggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl:There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -
Morning all, ((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Just a quickie this morning , we have to go to the charity shop, take back our library books, I need a last 'fix' in Wilko's and also have to visit a friend who had some fabric for me and also a pair of curtains.....then its back to finish off the sewing room packing ; take down the table and empty the top cupboards in our bedroom. Whats left in the bedroom will be packed on the morning. Bathroom tomorrow. I meed to change over thec cabinets towel rail etc and pack away what we do not need.......on wards and upwards, its going to be a busy week...Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
ivyleaf - have a fab trip, I'm very jealous, I've only been back 3weeks but so want to go back there!!
Back in work today, not much to do so will probably be on here a bit! :rotfl: Nothing OS planned today, having dinner out with friends tonight so will go somewhere that has 50% off
I got woken up at 1am by an inconsiderate taxi driver that beeped his horn in my flat's car park, then sat there with engine running for 15minutes before driving off without a passenger  I managed to go back to sleep but not as deeply as I was beforehand.
Have a good day all

Morning all:j:j
Not posted on this thred for a few days. I hope that everyone is well.
We had a lovely free range chicken for dinner yesterday. It was only a small bird but very tasty:T:T and the best bit is it only cost us £2.00 off the farmers market:j:T we got there at the end when everyone was pasking up and thay wonted to get shot of there last few chickens so we had two off them for £2.00 each and another couple had the last 3 off them for £5.00
Just shows that it pays to be late sometimes:beer:
We shall have the rest off teh chicken today as a stir fry There looks just enough to left to do this. but the cats are going to be left out this time:D
Iv started to look thourth the garden catologs that have been sent to me thourth the post. Im thinking about what to grow this year in the way of food!
Broad beans are a must!
Aswell as the normall herbs i.e. mint, chives and so forth.

Morning all.
Been to the hairdressers this morning. My treat to me! Have now got lovely looking hair (won't last though!).
JC - good luck with court. Unfortunately the CPS seem to have their own agenda on what they will and won't authorise charges on. As a police officer dealing with prisoners ever day, I am often amazed by their decisions.
Ivy - 7 weeks away in New Zealand, wow! have a fab time, and tell us all about it when you return.
Did some ironing yesterday, but other than that have kind of abandoned house work over the weekend, so loads to do as house is an utter tip. Think that will keep me busy most of the day!0
