No Fix - No fee guaranteed.

Would your advice be free (even if fixed) on here then OP?

Sorry for sounding cynical but when I saw your question below and you run a company that provides this kind of paid service I just thought there may be an ulterior motive.

"So, what would you think about a list of Qualified IT engineers that are required to provide relevant details of their respective qualifications and then those that need assistance could select from that list as to whom and how" they receive help.

Just had a thought as you already provide this established service you could offer it to this board for free....what do you think?

Since a lot of the problems here are virus/malware related. As such, the problems are current and the answers are current. I don't see how any qualification can be up to date or relevant.

Also, is the "thanked" total not a fairly good good guide as to the quality of advice is handed out? Ok so some will be for other sections of the forum.
Maybe that's the answer. Split the thanked into what forum section they come out of.

If you need you car fixed, where do you go

You don't have to go to a mechanic. There's nothing preventing you from talking to somebody about whatever problems you are having with your car and then being told what needs to be done to rectify it. Whether you're confident or skilled enough is another matter, if not, that's when you've got to pay somebody else to do it for you. No different to fixing many other things you'll find around the house.

Everyone make mistakes, fortunately this forum is quite active which has the benefit that those mistakes are usually corrected pretty quickly. I don't see why anyone should have to justify themselves with their qualifications, it's very much against the ethos of having a community of computer enthusiasts. In fact, one of the many benefits often cited with trying Ubuntu as an alternative to Windows is the community support available.

You don't have to be qualified in something to be good at it. I find that out every evening in the kitchen.

If it’s an attempt to instigate some kind of bragging contest then that’s most definitely not in the ethos of the board and isn’t going to help anyone

Ok, so in your little world people like me would not be able to help others . . .

I have no IT qualifications, no MCDST, no MCSE/A
Yet I have been managing a network of over 150 client PC's 6 Servers, Switches, Printers, Managed wireless solutions and 500+ users for nearly 10 years all on my own..

So I can see how any advise I would give out here would be worthless

I'd best kept stum from now on then :lipsrseal

Thanks for the feedback. As I have mentioned before it would remain the same just that there was some provision of qualification.

All I am suggesting is that questions would be answered with more focus and far less detracting posts or arguments.

I have read posts on here that in general have some good solutions for people. Then they seem to lose their path because people didnt read the problem correctly.

Thans for the feedback. I see what you are saying but, adaware/virus or indeed any greyware install to the registry. The pattern of installation may be different but still registry bound.

The understanding and assessent of ant regestry log has to be assistive...No?

Fair comment, but nothing that you have suggested will prevent this, it is quite normal, and happens on all forums.:)
