Dont give up monkeylugs. Use the horrible feeling and turn it into a positive one - that is, remember how you felt last night and do today and think to yourself I never want to feel that way again, that will make you determined the next time you are tempted to go over your syns. Stick with it, you're in good company. This from the girl who has just eaten 3 mini twix's -enough syns for the week no doubt- dont know what came over with me and am feeling thoroughly disgusted with myself. Its done now and I will put it behind me and try extra harder for the rest of the week. You can do it!

PS - where's Delly gone to??

Don't worry monkeylugs. This may happen for a series of reasons. The most common ones are:
    -when your period is due
-when your body is giving up fat in favour of muscle (which weighs more but not only is healthier but also helps burn more fat in the short term)
I know what has happened to you is very irritating and puts you off, but please don't give up and give yourself at least one more week. You'll lose weight and it may happen (it is common) that you'll lose in that one week more than you've put on up to now. Three weeks is too little to feel the effects of the change of diet (no, I'm not a SW consultant, only a satisfied customer).
And keep an eye on those syns, those treacherous bits pile up more easily than it seems!

    Monkeylugs (((hugs)))

Sometimes you need those flexible syns - we can't be angellic all the time after all! Don't beat yourself up about your gain, I know it's easier said than done, but try to put it behind you. Maybe you need to go right back to basics, stick to 10 syns a day and be really honest about them, eat lots of 'speed' foods, and make sure you drink the recommended 2 litres of water every day. Try to prove that SW doesn't work! ;)

And give yourself a pat on the back - you thought about giving up, but you haven't - you deserve it.

monkeylugs, stick to it, I'm sure it's just a blip. Try to stay motivated and keep drinking lots of water.

    Good luck for next week.

    K9 Update

Had my weigh in today.. my target was 114.9kg.. I "thought" I might even been as low as 112 but had to bad week last week easy (and eatting rubbish! :( )

Anyhoo... I was 114.5 kg! So beat my target!!! So I'm kinda happy!!!

I've lost 9kg todate which is around 1st 4lbs!! I've still got along way to go.. I won't be the medical recommended until est. May 2008!!! I think I will be happy with 86kg which should be at (if I carry on as I am!) Nov 2007.

Anyway... my next target is to be 109.8kg for Nov 2006! Will keep you posted!!

    Well done K9. :T

What's the reason for the 11 weekly weigh ins? I think you did tell us before, but I've forgotten. Do you find having such a long gap between them motivating? You certainly seem to be doing well, but I'm not sure if it would work for me.

Aww, Monkeylugs.... :grouphug: Don't give up on us now. I know you feel really downhearted.. but it will get better. Try turning your negative feelings on their head as honey says and think of something positive - how much you enjoy cooking your healthy food, how it felt to lose those first few lbs. I know you feel like you've wasted your money, but honestly you haven't. How much more might you have weighed if you handn't joined SW 3 weeks ago and taken control of your eating habits. - remember those flexible syns are there to help you live a normal life - have a bad day and forget about it. Please, please try to learn from this and move on. Like everyone says, keep your food diary, stick to your syns every day ,allow yourself a treat every day (from your syns), eat your healthy extras, make sure you're eating enough free foods and maybe get out your measuring tape and measure your progress in inches as well as lbs off... you'd be surprised at how much difference there'll be.

    Good luck this week.

    Hi Everyone,

I disappeared onto planet binge for the past few days and was too embarrassed to post advice to anyone when I couldn't control my own cravings:rolleyes: . I started afresh on Monday and weigh in was tonight. Thankfully I didn't do too much damage - 1/2 lb on! I feel lucky that I've got away with only 1/2 lb on given the amount of junk I've eaten:eek: . - However, I'm pretty sure I'm back on the straight and narrow again - I was bought a bar of chocolate tonight and just couldn't look at it. So I've planned my menus for this week already (breakfast, lunches and dinners) and I'm going to stick to it as far as possible. I'm going out for dinner on Saturday night with my SIL (it's officially her hen night) but as OH is working on Sunday, I'm going to have to stay fairly sober as I have DS all to myself and I don't want him to suffer from a grumpy hungover mummy.

I've just been thinking, I'm actually better off if I plan a dinner out because it encourages me to eat better during the week and I'm more likely to stick to the plan 100% of the time if I know I'm off for a night out. ... Maybe that's what you should do Monkeylugs - plan a night out this weekend and it might encourage you to stick to the plan better for the rest of the week

Well done K9 , welcome chralph and jane_72. I haven't got a recipie for hummous handy but I know that there's one in the booklet we got free this week in SW. I'll have a look and get back to you.
