    Afternoon ladies!

Question though - do any of you have a memory foam mattress or one with a memory foam topper on it? I've heard mixed reviews about them - I've heard that you can get very hot on them because of the nature of the moulding to your body thing? Is it worth buying one, or should I just stick to a pocket sprung mattress?

Hi, I've had one for the last year or so, I've got the whole mattress as memory foam, OH has a bad back & its generally been miles better since changing from a normal mattress.. As for getting hot, I'm a cold person, even in the middle of summer my feet will be cold, so I've not found it a problem! I used to have a hot water bottle most of the year & have a high tog winter duvet on, this year we've still got our light weight summer duvet! So yes they almost certainly must be warmer but we've found it fine. I'd definately buy another.

I've done loads of flying today so I'll up date my lists & post them in abit..also wasted loads of time on FB and made a white chocolate cheesecake with a blueberry sauce!

Had a busy day re-tidying the house after carpet cleaners had moved all the 'stuff' - my carpets are actually cream again (were in with the house and can't afford new ones) they don't really go with small boys drinking blackcurrant juice. Have very naughtily shoved loads of toys in the garage - so there is some room for my early 40th party tomorrow. Then going to freecycle some and take a pile of toys and books up to kids A&E. There were 2 books and just 1 toy to play with when we were there with Adam last weekend so think they could do with a few more!

Have had bad news about cake though cos friend was making it and her roof has fallen in and my cake is as flat as a pancake -oops. She also had a wedding cake finished on the same table and two tiers have been wrecked so she's re-doing that and we've bought loads of cupcakes and got Emily decorating a cardboard cake stand for them.

DH is over the moon with his special award but did point out that Emily got a snowman, he's had a special award and so far I don't appear to be pulling my weight - am saving it all till I feel old enough to be responsible lol

All DS's uniform is washed and ironed

    ALL of it

first time since the xmas hols

HE put his shirts (2) and his PE shirt IN THE WASHING MACHINE himself last night as I told him I had already emptied the laundry basket of whites and they were in the machine ready to run (because I had and they were). So they've been out on the line (in the bitter cold) have dried and are now ironed *glow* as has DD's cardigan and their trousers...

    Happy birthday Master W - I hope you've had a lovely day

Well, I've finally done and filed my tax return. The excellent news is that they, for the first time ever, owe ME oodles of money so I should be getting a nice refund soon.

Am off to do stars and then make sausages with the reduced pork I got in Tesco yesterday

If you walk through the meadows behind Muker, turn right and go over the Rampsholme Bridge, then follow the track to the right, at the top turn left and follow that track up (and I mean up), you eventually come to a gorge high above Muker. You can cross the gorge to continue along the path and after going through an old mine working, you come down again near to Crackpot Hall (old ruin). However, the gorge sounds like the ideal place.

For those who are laughing about Crackpot Hall and thinking it might make a good home for many of us on here, the name is derived from two old local words 'crack' meaning 'crows' and 'pot' being a hole in the cliff or ground. Behimnd the hall is an old quarry where the crows like to gather, bit like in Hitchcocks 'The Birds'.

Sorry, this has nothing to do with flying :o unless you count the reference to crows!

I've just read this to my Dad over the phone and he said that he believes that everyone should see the meadows behind the square when they are in full bloom as it's such a beautiful sight. Also he was laughing about the Reading Room that was built to keep the miners out of the pub and only holds about 3 people :rotfl: He was pleased to talk about it and is looking forward to going back again this spring/summer. Thanks for the detailed reply you have made my and his day :A

Oneof the benefits of cutting back on the work then ;):D

I've emptied two and a half cupboards from the utility room into the kitchen cupboards. There's still a bit of space in the kitchen, which is great, but it does mean getting to things will be a bit of a performance!

I'm still packing unwanted stuff into the car. A friend is collecting for a local hospice, and I'm seeing her on Monday, so the car will be emptied then. I suspect that all my outdoor stuff (boots, trainers, coats etc) will have to live in the car for the week the utility room is out of action!

I'm sorting out pens for Jue now ;):p

Yep. When I mentioned the sum to DD she said "oooh, where are we going on holiday - the Caribbean?" I told her no, it means we'll be able to eat for the next few months!

I want a pillow made with spelt husks :( what are they btw?

Hi Rose :hello: yes I also had to get an activation code for the tax when I first registered.

SM I wouldn't be without mine, as mentioned it's like sleeping on a cloud.

The fan belts gone on my car now so that'll have to be sorted tomorrow, I've filled my giant clothes airer with clothes, 3 loads so that'll save some leccy if I'm not using the drier, the snow is still about 10ft deep (exaggerate much?) *sigh* awful stuff, should never have been invented, and tidied the kitchen again. Messy people live at my house.
