WOOHOO!!! DS1's new room is done.... undercoat, gloss and the paint he chose all done in 5 hours this afternoon:T(It's a tiny room).
We've moved his new(to him) bed in and 2 chests of drawers, now comes the hard part. I have to sort through all their toys and decided what 'belongs' to who and what can be binned. Then move the rest of his stuff in his new room..... which he loves!!!:T:j

    Evening all

I've had a nice afternoon, went to Tesco and treated myself to some new specs and sunglasses  Also managed to impress my mum by purchasing cleaning stuff - shes impressed that I am keeping up with the flying as is DH - he admitted today that I am doing pretty well at keeping up with everything and that he is sneezing less (we live in an old house which is constantly dusty and can be difficult to get rid of and keep dust free!).
nutty get someone else to take the vacuum upstairs for you - better still get them to do the vacumming as well - it wont hurt them!!!!!

I managed to rope DH into hoovering the lounge this morning - I will see if he will do me the stairs tomorrow - he has "Nearly Man flu" at the minute, Mr Snuffles (although him and DSS seem to be managing to make a racket atm- DH on the guitar and DSS on the drums in DSS's room on the top floor)

    My new updated list

    Declutter and vacuum floors!
    Level Two
Wash 2 windows - only have one so that will have to do!
    Level Three

    Level Three
[STRIKE]Throw away 10 items you have kept for ages but have absolutely no use for!.. [/STRIKE] My lord, was I impressed with this one - glad that DH is upstairs "Jamming" with DSS as I managed to declutter the kitchen shelves - ones that come at the sides of wall mounted cupboards IYKWIM?) I have lobbed it all in the bin before he has time to notice, now to sit and wait to see when/if he does :rotfl:
    Clear and wipe window sills

WED and THURS, complete, can I get a star please :T

    Friday ~ Master Bedroom
    Level One
[STRIKE]Strip wash and replace the bedding[/STRIKE]
Spend half an hour doing something for yourself!!
    Declutter the floordrobe

Sausages made, portioned up and popped in the freezer, equipment washed up and put away and remaining casings currently being salted to lay down to use another day. I got them from my nice butcher - I only asked on spec :D

Now to decidee what to do for dinner. Pheasant or stew? I think the pheasant may win...

Not managed much flying today - back is achey and trip out shopping with DH distracted me. However I have managed to declutter some MrT vouchers for a weekend away and meals out card! Not bad for £47.50 of vouchers!

Tried to make a lemon meringue pie other day - the egg whites wouldn't whip properly as the bowl had been wet and there had been some egg yolk in with the whites, still I put egg white mixture on top of lemon filling and it ended up as a lemon flat pie! Everyone ate it and said it was nice despite being flat!

Do we have to say each week that we want to be in the following week or can we just 'roll over'?

    Happy flying!

Too right :T:T:T we need you in one piece toots!

Better find my list and see how I'm doing...
  • Sexymouse - We have an (to quote from the website) "'No turn' mattress with 1250 individual pocket springs and a deep layer of 'Airflow Memory' foam for exquisite comfort and added ventilation."

It's amazingly comfortable - I do suffer with bad backs and it has made a world of difference to me.

I am a hot bod - notice a hot bod not a hot body (chance would be a fine thing :rotfl:) and I did struggle in the heat of the summer last year - it was our first few months with it and I do find it very warm although this has been a benefit during this cold winter.

Ours has a removable cover that says it should be dry cleaned - I need to look and see if I can do this in the machine, has anyone tried this before?

    Evening all,

Well after trying out lots of different mattresses and umming and ahhing between 3 different wooden bedframes, I've bought a bed. I was struggling to decide between 2 different bedframes and then the salesman said that he had an exdisplay model that we could have for the same price, which confused me even more. Good job OH is slightly more decisive than me! I can't show you pictures cos they don't sell the bed online, but it is solid hardwood (light coloured) with a low end and a slightly curved headboard, so that when you sit up in the bed, it goes with the curve of your back. We went for a foam mattress with a 5cm memory foam top that was built-in. It felt nice and comfy in the shop, so hopefully I'll not be too hot. I expect it'll just be certain times of the month where I may be (sorry if TMI). Best bit is, it is being delivered on Tuesday (when OH is off anyway as our wood burner is being installed then too), so hopefully by the time I get home from parents evening between 7.30-8pm, there should be a nice bed in our room, ready to go. :) I got it all for £500 - should've been £550, so a little bit of money off, and the delivery is free. It's a small local company too, so not feeding one of those big firms. Salesman was very nice and not pushy at all, and didn't follow us around, so we could look without feeling pressured. He said that foam mattresses generally age very well, and they are completely hypoallergenic as dust mites cannot live in them, which is also nice to know.

Another bonus is, that once our bed is in the spare room, hopefully it'll feel more like a spare room too, and it'll be treated as such, rather than accumulating clutter.

Well I'm off to go and heat up dinner - went to M&D's last night, and my Dad cooked far too much pasta again, so I've got HM Tuna lasagne and OH has HM Gammon Pasta bake with garlic bread. nom nom

Hope everyone has had a lovely day, and thanks for all of the advice on the beds.

    sexymouse xx
