What a joke that place has become.

OMG, talk about denial.
Absolutely priceless.
We are a month, maybe two at the most, away from double digit annual HPI. The inevitability of it has been all over the news, and every site that discusses house prices, and that clown reckons that "not even the most bullish VI is suggesting that????:rotfl:
Such a staggering level of stupidity on hpc truly boggles the mind.
Thats what happens when you ban dissenting opinion though....
Confirmation bias in the extreme.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

That was GHPC ~ but it was sabotaged and no longer exists.
All the members went to:

A little slow but it has it's moments. A lot of members there that were previously banned from HPC circa 2005/6.

I'm a HPCer.
I'm loving the bulls here at the moment, OK we only got two or three nutjobs in the house in this forum but it's been real funny reading their posts. I suspect only one of them is a real bull anyway.
After the election, reality will take hold. It's hardly rocket science is it.0 -

The trouble with the HPC bears is they won't entertain debate and have cried wolf too often.0 -

Might this be closer to the truth for so many HPC posters:
You're really sticking it to those bears Nollag. And I'm loving the picture, it speaks a thousand words. Keep up the good work, otherwise the weird, strange, odd battle between two groups of people that don't exist in the real world and only have a vague presence on internet forums could be lost!
Maybe a song, or possibly a rousing poem, could be the next step in the important bulls vs bear war that has long been raging?0 -

I know you're not referring to me, but I'm a property bear at the moment and still around. For all the jabs about HPC you see here, the MSE forum has pretty much the same flaw, one dominant viewpoint that isn't accepting of reasonable dissent.
I don't think being a property bull on HPC is a problem, the bulls I've seen get banned are generally deserving of it for behaviour regardless of opinion.
In the end my view on property influences my own financial decisions (I chose not to buy 3 months ago) and I am still happy with the choice. I don't see short term growth in house prices as proof that it is better to buy now than wait, anymore than it was true in early 2007.
In truth I have found the arguements put accross by many of the HPC bears to be more compelling than those offered by the majority of HPC or MSE bulls, not least because most of the bulls come with self-inflated egos and the desperate need to prove there forsight to the world.Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. come with self-inflated egos and the desperate need to prove there forsight to the world.
- the only reason that property in London is increasing in value is because it's being bought up by drug dealers and prostitutes
- property prices to drop 70%
- interest rates to hit double digits
- unemployment to hit 15% by the end of 2010
- gilts sales to fall flat
- inflation to be at hyper inflation levels
- the house price indexes are all manipulated when they're positive
- waiting for the General Election for the tories to come in and make all of these cuts and by a cheap house
- buying Gold and silver is the future
if you can't see it - it's probably because the views on here are more balanced and the guys on HPC.co.uk live in they're tiny little illusionary dream world0 -
But gold is the future.
One day I will live in a house full of golden bears0
