Nothing wrong with stereotyping.
Now, being able to tell someone's religion from how they look..... that a risky skill!0 -
thats what I was thinking too, although they werent in any urgent need of help, it would have taken me the best of 5mins and would have strengthened community spirit.......sadly you have to weigh up the risks and I could equally have been taken advantage of......as so many are.0

You did what your gut instinct told you to. That's what it's for!
Unfortunately there has be times where good Samaritans have put themselves in danger.0 -

I always judge people by the fact would I put money on it being true. If I say yes I would, then I go with my judgement. I dont like losing money.0 -

However the degree of risk in stopping for four elderly women who appear to have broken down on the side of the road - for example how likely is it for a potential attacker to have obtained four elderly women to use as bait - is pretty negligable.
Absolutely. I tend to work on a quick risk-assesment basis.
Risk of four elderly women attacking, mugging or car jacking me = very low.
Risk of four middle-aged smartly dressed men doing the same = low.
Risk of a family with kids doing the same = very low.
Risk of four mid-20's blokes in tracksuits = medium.Self confessed nerd when it comes to anything financial and/or numerical! :cool:0 -
Trust your instincts, whatever the situation. They are usually right."It's official, MSE's harbouring total fruitcakes">^..^<0

Strangely enough I can remember having a conversation with my partner about a potential situation like this - I told her plainly not to stop for anyone and keep on driving.
I'm sorry but if her and/or my daughter are out and about and see someone broken down I don't want them stopping and putting themselves in danger - if that sounds harsh then so be it but I worry about my family's safety first and foremost.0 -

Thats some skill you got there!

The fact that they were male Muslims colours your judgement on when to help and when to ignore ?.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
