Left Stranded Due to Faulty ATM

I called from a phonebox right beside it using the small change i had. The phone number was on their window. God people are sooooo suspicious.
Perhaps I've over reacted. I was just a bit !!!!ed off being left stranded. I suppose it was my fault for not having any cash. Thanks for the replies anyway.:)
P.S It's handy having a SPARE £20 in the back of your wallet if you can afford it. I can't!0 -
I think that's pretty obvious to everyone here! Although I can completely understand that you wanted to vent your frustration - I'd probably feel the same way!The_Jester wrote: »Perhaps I've over reacted.

2 hours walk.
5 or 6 miles?
Didn't you have that much fuel left in your car?
I know when my low fuel light comes on I have 10 litres left enough for at least 60 miles.0 -

MIL calls this her 'running away money':D
I do it too - with a five pound coin (I'm not even sure it's legal tender so it's probably useless anyway:p)
sadly it doesn't help when I've left the purse at home.....again:oNot just a sucker for sweeties..:o0 -

Talk about stating the bleeding obvious lol
So you left it till you had less than a litre of petrol in the car before you went to fill up.
Had just one debit card on you, no cash to speak of, and you want to blame someone else for your situation because you had to walk home when you were unable to withdraw cash with that card?
Don't individuals have some responsibility for their own lack of forethought?0 -
Noh, I couldn't have said it any better!0

Then, you really cannot afford to run a car.0 -
Ref to rb10's post...T&C's wrote:Unless it is our fault, if someone else refuses to accept your card or keeps it, we will not pay you for any loss you suffer.
I see your point about banks normally sewing T+C's right up, but in the above, it WAS the banks fault it didn't dispense money, no?I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -

Ok, maybe I didn't find the most appropriate bit of the T&Cs. Here's a better one, from the same set of T&Cs:T&Cs wrote:We will not be responsible for any loss or expense which you suffer if:
• your card is kept by a cash machine;
• your card is damaged;
• any bank, cash machine, terminal, retailer or anyone else refuses to accept
it; or

transaction on your account, or if we cannot provide any services and facilities because of strikes, power cuts, equipment not working or other
causes beyond our reasonable control.0
