Two days ago I logged on and checked the price of Carnation Milk, and this is what I got. (Checked several times to be sure I was right)The 170g and 410g tins are both 58p each. However, the 170g tins were 36p last week, but have gone up to 58p with an offer of 2 for 80p.
Just checked now and I get
170g tins for 36p or 2 for 80p
410g tins for 58p
Still looks like the old site to me.0 -
I checked 2 email addresses yesterday, myself & my son's. Both old style site & the rice was £1.24 on both. To-day the rice is now showing on both at £1.12.
Could they just be updating prices & one version of the site is ahead on this?
As for the carnation, 36p each or two for 80p, I find they often mess up on offers like this. Another example I found was the mini pizzas, 35p each or 3 for £1.30 lol.0 -
By the way, I'm so glad YOU can find it easy on the new system, guess that just makes me an idiot.
You are not an idiot. I have always used the search to search for specific items or brand names, and neverhad a problem with the search.
Then tonight I decided to search for "grape jelly" (another thread), the system went berserk and showed me every item they sell that contains jelly or grapes!
Wiskas Pouches in Jelly, Jelly Tots, Bottles of grape juice, pork pies with jelly, Mint jelly, Felix Good As Ocean Feasts In Jelly, Tesco Mini Jelly Beans, Dettol 4in1 Multiaction Wipepnk Grape, Tesco My Babys Petroleum Jelly, Timotei Grape & Rose Petals Shower Gel 250ml ....list list is bl**dy endless!
It seems that if you search for something they sell then it shows you that, but if you search for something they don't sell it shows you everything they've got!
Did you know Princess do peach slices in grape juice? What do they do with the peach juice, bung it in the grape tin!
Edit: Got to the last page and guess what....... KY JellyKY® Jelly heightens sexual pleasure by complementing personal moisture to help ensure lubrication and comfort during sex.
Apparently you are to avoid putting it in your eye!0 -
Thanks Geordie Joe! ahahaha To be honest their new system really put me off. I thought perhaps that was the purpose - to keep you confused and unable to focus on what is the best value of like for like.
And I thought maybe they want you to do more 'impulse' buying by showing so many things.........like, ohh! I needed more KY ! :rotfl:0 -
I just checked on my Tesco's account. Old style site (not seen the new one) and I'm getting:“Don't do it! Stay away from your potential. You'll mess it up, it's potential, leave it. Anyway, it's like your bank balance - you always have a lot less than you think.”

The price is the price is the price. Forget this "offer to treat" bollox.
Would you be happy to fill up your trolley and go to the checkout for a quote before you decide to buy?
Basic law of selling. I learned that when I did O level law years ago. When you take your trolley to the checkout you are making an offer to buy. If something is mispriced in your favour they have every right to refuse to sell something to you at the stated price. Obviously most stores wouldn't do that because of goodwill.0
