Tesco now charging differently depending on WHO you are

Seems there is nothing but mistakes whatever version you have.
On my grocery homepage it says family mealdeal for £5, including finest side, main course dessert and wine. There is one side (not finest), 2 mains (both pizza), one dessert, and obviously no wine.
Very uninspiring, and very much a mistake.0 -

Imagine the next ASDA advert....
"ASDA charge one low price for everybody, unlike Tesco who add extra on if they don't like your email address".
Or
"Do you know Tesco charge you more than your neighbour for the same items? ASDA don't, we charge everyone the same low price".
It would have millions on the net talking about it, and checking Tesco prices. I reckon it would kill tesco's online business in a week.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Everyone who thanks me when ive helped will get a 5% share when I win this weeks Euromillions......:p0 -
I am not expert on websites but how can it be that when you log into Tesco.com then go to groceries, someone can get a different website to me?
It is very simple. When you log on the site sends you to the Tesco main page, but it can send different users to different pages. Tesco actually do this already, they send you to asite for the shop where your groceries will be sent from. Also, how can the www be geographic?
In many ways. In the case of tesco, when you log in they know who you are and where you live. In my case I get sent to the Poole site because that is the nearest store to me that does deliveries. If I lived in another part of the country I would go to whichever store was nearest.0 -
Soya mince for me £1.48

That is the £5 meal deal. The one with the finest stuff and bottle of wine is £9. It is on offer in store as well.If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -

The www can be geographical because to use the site you need to log on so it can direct you to either version of the website. It has to know where you are so that it can offer you the stuff that your local store sells, eg Asian, West Indian sections etc.If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -

Unfortunately, it's not bollox. A supermarket can charge what they like for goods, just like any other retail outlet. You don't have to pay the price and they don't have to sell to you.
That is irrelevant, whether we would be happy or not does not affect the law.
I love the smug attitude of the proles that post on here sometimes....
Do you really think that a supermarket would do business in this manner, regardless of the law?

Wake up.
I don't understand your post.
The question wasn't "are they operating in that way" it was "is it legal to operate in that way". PolishBigSpender said it was legal and you disagreed, I simply pointed out that PolishBigSpender was right and it was legal. Neither of us said they were operating in that way.
I don't think any supermarket is operating that way, but that doesn't mean operating that way would be illegal.
You'll just have to face it, you jumped in and made a statement that was completely wrong, and it was pointed out that it was wrong. Trying to make it look as I believe they are doing it is no defence for you being being wrong about it being legal.

You can go to two different Tescos in neighbouring streets and pay different prices, so why not online? As gerodiejoe says the price is an offer, if you don't want to pay don't.
Couple online with clubcard and they have all your Tesco shopping habits so can profile your offers and prices. Offer you something else, you don't want it so they ramp up your regular purchase as they assume you will buy this whatever else they tempt you with - Coke or Pepsi syndrome.
It's actually very clever and the start of things to come.0 -
