Tesco now charging differently depending on WHO you are

It depends on the store your getting the shopping from, are both accounts setup to deliver to the same address?0

It's called differential pricing. Amazon used to be notorious for it: charging more for books, say, if you'd bought something similar before. The trick is to delete your cookies before you shop to get the best price.
I don't think that would work with Tesco, though, as the sneaky blighters make you sign in before you shop.import this0 -
Am I missing something? Whats different about the website looks the same as always to me.0

I don't think so Geordie Joe re: cached pages. I know Tesco charges differently based on locality in the UK and well, that is what it is.
But you said it was based on you using two different email address to log in, and that both are linked to the same address. So locality can't be the reason you get two different prices.I can always count on you to challenge whatever anyone says to the inth degree
I wasn't challenging what you said, I believe you when you say you were given different prices with different account. I was just trying to work out why it was happening.
It's always easiest to blame the first thing that comes to mind, but it's not always right.By the way, I'm so glad YOU can find it easy on the new system, guess that just makes me an idiot. Thanks so much for your advice. :T
Actually I didn't actually notice any difference in the site. It looked the same to me and I just typed in "ice cream" and looked at the results. Maybe I got the old site.0 -
Just checked the Tesco Easy Cook Brown Rice on 2 different email addys and £1.12 on one and £1.24 on the other :eek:0

Just had a thought..........if it is true, why hasn't anyone mentioned it before.
Surely it would come to light on here first. Maybe it is a new thing, as part of the new site and Jenni is the first victim.
If Jenni is the first victim then we can expect a lot of others coming in to say the same. You won't need two accounts to spot it. Someone will post "XYZ is 80p at tesco" and others will say "No, I logged on and it charged me 95p" Then others will say "No, I logged on and got charged 80p"
Be interesting to find out what happens.0
