I have baked a lemon and poppy seed cake and a tray of brownies tonight as I have my DD3 and DGD2 coming for a visit in the morning so I'd better go to bed.

I know there will be 1001 recipes on here somewhere for snacks to put in lunch boxes, but I was wondering if any of you fantastic people had tried and tested {tasted
} recipes that I could bake on a weekend ready for our lunches for the coming week. I mean more down the root of Mr Kiplings cakes or lemon drizzle cake etc? But obviously doesn't cost the earth!

You can never go wrong with Mary Berry! IMHO
I found this whilst looking for a lemon drizzle cake recipe:
http://www.goodtoknow.co.uk/recipes/276440/Mary-Berry-s-three-cakes-in-one
She uses one basic mix to make 3 different cakes, which I think could easily be adapted to your personal taste. I guess it just depends on your baking skill/knowledge. Her recipes are almost always the all-in-one method which is really easy!
Today I made her lemon drizzle loaf cake, yum0
