We made a Fochabers' gingerbread yesterday.
Pear and Ginger upside down cake or pudding can be eaten hot or cold, with custard, cream, ice cream or on it's own and is one of our favourites. Freezes well. I always make a couple and they seem to disappear very quickly unless I hide some in the freezer.
I tend to mess around with recipes and measurements vary a tad so will be making some more this week and will note amounts etc. I'll have to time it cooking too as I just keep an eye on my baking and when it's done it's done iykwim. I'll share the recipe later in the week. OH is looking forward to more quality testing, he takes his job very seriously and ensures plenty is consumed in the process. He says thanks for giving him more work:D0 -

If so can you post the recipe please? I have tried a few that I found online but none that quite took me back to the 'boiled cabbage aroma' school dinner days I recall
Pink custard anyone? :rotfl:
It is indeed! A little tip, the key to getting it like schools is in the thickness. I have done a real thick one but it wasn't right. Stick to about 3/4 inch and you should be right!
The recipe I use is on the allrecipes.co.uk website and is titled "chocolate concrete like school makes it" I'm sorry I can't do linksMummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -
