  • Chicken and bacon 'tart'....still needs tweaking though on cooking temp as the burnt pastry edging wasn't very nice. So, lower temp for longer :)
Going to bake some porridge oat biscuits in a bit as the oven is still warm

    [EDIT]
Yummy! Peggybabcot I'm now dribbling lol
  • chocolate cookies here. Special request from my little boy, I tried a new recipe today and to me they seem just like the ones you get from the supermarket, albeit a little smaller!

  • For some reason I had lots of condensed milk and I didn't want to do Millionaire's Shortbread, so I googled condensed milk recipes and found put a lime and coconut cake on the Carnation website. Curious to see how it turns out.

  • Can any of you lovely talented bakers out there help me out with a recipe for big chewy jelly bean cookies? Similar to the ones you sometimes get in Mr T's bakery. I bought two huge tubs of JellyBelly jellybeans today and fancy making cookies with them. My daughter has tried it before with things like jellytots but the sweeties always go rock hard and 'fall' away from the cookie.

    I'd appreciate any advice.

I use condensed milk in my flapjack- it makes it really moist and stops it getting hard.

Not baked anything today but I have made some jars of plum jam with the last fruit from the plum tree, and some apple sauce from windfall apples. When the weather turns cold it will be nice have jam sponge and custard and the apple sauce is going in the freezer for christmas.
