Made cornish pasties.....not a great success on the crimping front though.....must try harder.

They look pretty good, they are in the oven as we speak.....

Just thought I'd let you all know the cornish pasties were absolutely delicious...huge and delicious.

It was the first time I'd made them (we don't normally eat pies or pasties) and they'll definitely become a regular.

I made two Fochabers gingerbreads (my favourite cake),one for me and one for work. The people at work liked it so much that I took the other one in.I've promised to make them another one soon.

I also made my favourite rich fruit cake.

I made a pie for dinner - no name - just one of my made up recipes.
Made enough shortcrust pastry for this pie plus some to go in freezer.
I simmered all the ingredients in a pan on the stove then turned into dish when cool and covered with pastry. I use Trex - makes fantastic pastry.
I used a pork steak - cut into bits - cooked the other evening plus a tin of value baked beans, an onion, two peppers - from a value bag - Mr T.
Plus some soft tomatoes, a large mushroom, 2 sticks of celery, 3 cloves of garlic - last I had, chilli flakes, garlic granules, rinsed out empty barbecue sauce bottle and a stock cube. Also added the gravy meat was cooked in plus some flour to thicken sauce + ground black pepper. Enough to serve 8 - we had 1/4 pie between the two of us - cost of pie - £1.82
    Really filling and tasty.
    Photos to follow.

lemon drizzle cake and a fat-free banana cake (to take to work next week) because they both cook at the same temperature and a bread-and-butter pudding, to use up some yellow-stickered bread.

Today I made a loaf for lunch, chocolate muffins, rhubarb crumble and I iced my mum's birthday cake and made the sugar flowers ready for decorating it tomorrow.
