    Decided to try some new (to me) cakes today and made this ginger cake

    It is the best ginger cake I have tasted and not too bad for the budget :D

    Also made a coffee and walnut cake, from good food websire,not eaten any of it yet, but looks lush:j

    I used crushed up shortbread rather than digestives though as I had those in the cupboard from Christmas. Takes a lot of Maltesers though so it isn't cheap. Think I used 6 bags but then used value chocolate! Tastes lovely though so worth every penny!

    Lemon drizzle cake (kids current favourite) and a banana loaf (to use up the rapidly-blackening bananas). Both bake at 180 deg.

  • well I have to say they were.... horrid..... I hate to waste food but they had to be binned.. yuck..... next week I'll try again.. I went over what i did with MIL and think i know what went wrong.. oh well.... today i made cheese rolls to have with some home made lentil soup and it was lush.. so win some lose some. :D

    That's too bad.Hope they turn out better next time.
