A key lime pie using the Delia Online recipe: tastes great. The only alteration I made was the exclusion of Grape-Nuts breakfast cereal, can't see any of it in my local Sainsbury's shop.
While the pie tastes quite delicious without the grape-nuts Delia says the add that extra crunch so any suggestions for an alternative.
To be honest I don't think I'd buy a packet of cereal just to make one or two pies.

Haven't baked anything yet BUT Went down to Lidl's on Sunday to buy some multipurpose cleaner and some fruit and arrived home with a Silvercreast Food Processor :exclamati
While I needed (wanted) a food processor but had a limited budget I decided to go for the Lidl brand as I've had very good experience with Lidl's own brands in the past.
If anyone has this food processor I'd be interested in hearing how you use the dough hook. The example recipe doesn't seem to make it that clear - at least not to me. I'm not working this afternoon and it will give me time to play about with the machine.Yeast dough
Ingredients:
500 g Wheat flour
1 cube of Yeast (40 g) or 1 pack Dry yeast
Approx. 1/4 l lukewarm Milk
60 g Butter or Margarine
40 g Sugar
1 pkt Vanilla sugar
1 btl. Citro-bake
1 Egg
Preparation:
• Place the flour, dry yeast or crumbled yeast and
all other ingredients (not directly on the yeast)
into the mixing bowl.
• Slowly mix everything, starting with the dough
hook at level 1, then for 3 - 4 minutes on level 2.
• Cover the bowl with a dish towel, place it in a
warm place and let the dough rise until it has
visibly increased its size.
• Then knead the dough through once again.
• After that, the dough is finished and you can process
it further.
From what I've read the Lidl Food Processor is based on the Bosch MUM 4 so anyone has that machine they might want to throw in there two-pence worth.
Many thanks

I went on a bit of a baking rampage at the weekend
- Blackberry flapjacks, drizzled them with white choc so they looked a bit posh.
- Triple chocolate brownies
- Blackberry cakes with some lemon buttercream icing I had leftover, which insists on being far too soft, I think it's too warm in here for buttercream atm.
- First proper go of bread, made ordinary white rolls. Went ok, taste ok, however suspect practice required to perfect.
- First ever attempt at a crumble! Went for pear and blackberry, and took enormous risk in offering to bring dessert when we went to OH's parents' for Sunday dinner, when I hadn't made it yet and had no idea if I could or if it would work or what. But it went down a treat so am rather pleased.

I'm very sad - we holiday in Florida over New Year and I bring home Key Lime juice to see me through the year. I alternate between buying grape nuts, crushing hob nobs and using crushed ginger nuts - depends on my mood what we have. The grape nuts definitely give more texture than crushed digestives which is what most people suggest.
You've got my mouth watering - I feel a key lime pie coming on before the end of the week:)0
