Hmm, just been reading all your lovely bakes and got inspired to make
Twink's Hobnobs and a cold tea cake....only I've just discovered I'm totally out of sugar and there's no shops open in South Australia after 5pm on a Saturday (except the expensive 'corner shops', and I'm not paying their prices!).

    So, maybe tomorrow. Sigh.

Dundee Doll hm foccacia is lovely, dead easy to make. Any left overs we slice through the middle of it and spread with garlic butter and grill. I'm in work so not baking this weekend, i did mine yesterday. Choc & orange muffins, brownies, syrup cake and jjs herby cheesy bread. Will stick bm on tomorrow for a loaf.

DS (4) and I have made a Tropical Fruit Loaf today, as he's been sent home for the holidays with a cooking bag from school. We've baked and iced the cake, the children have eaten some for pudding, and now [STRIKE]we[/STRIKE] I just need to upload the photos onto the computer, print the photos off, write in the book from the cooking bag about our baking experience and glue in the printed photos. No job like motherhood, eh? :p

What's a cooking bag please? Sounds great!

    This morning I have baked:

Chocolate brownie tart (anyone else hate working with choc pastry?)
    Chocolate muffins
    Raspberry almond tartlets
    Rolls for lunch

Just waiting for the almond tarts to come out so I can pop the rolls in. :j

Yesterday I made tiffin, shortbread and Fochabers gingerbread ( thanks to Marmiterulesok) Swapping recipes is a great way to extend my repertoire! Today I`ve been asked to make 5 cakes for a wake and they have chosen lemon drizzle cake, lemon sponge cake, tiffin apple cake and chocolate cake!

That will keep me off the streets!:j

Sounds lovely.Which Fochabers recipe did you use in the end?I would also love to know how you make tiffin apple cake please. That's definitely a new one to me and sounds interesting.Surely not raw apples-as it's a raw cake?

    Thanks.

Yesterday I made four loaves of bread. Today I made four more loaves of bread, a large chocolate cake, flapjacks and a ginger cake.
  • I was so busy yesterday didn't get time to update - I baked a banana, pecan and dark choc loaf, was gorgeous! Though stupidly invited guests who also agreed and tried to devour the lot, told them no and whisked away last two slices for me! :-)
