  • I have just baked a chocolate cake. It was a cheat though, as I bought 2 boxes of the Morrisons Triple Chocolate Party Cake mix a few weeks back when they were on half price. (i love them though, and the bonus is there is less washing up because they give you the tray to bake it in too!)
it should last me all week as my 'sweet treat' at work.
the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j
  • I made Banana Loaf using Sohie's Dahls recipe, the other day, and it was gorgeous! Really moist and tasty, and pretty much finished already! I would recommend the recipe for Banana cake fans!

Does jam count ? Just made six pots lovely damson jam (a friend picked me a big bag of damsons from her garden) which we will have with easiyo yoghurt (I make the jam runny deliberately so it's like a Fruit Corner but much cheaper and NICER.)

Made an apple cake by chopping some apples into a rock bun mixture and baking as one...think that I would stew the apples a little first next time, but it turned out very nice....we had some warm with ice cream for pudding.

    This sounds really tasty!

Last night I dipped into the Weightwatchers cookbook again and made some raisin and honey flapjacks. Again they definitely don't taste like low fat/diet food, they are yummy :rotfl:

well not baked but have built a lasagne.

i made enough chilli in my 2 s/c yesterday to feed an army. we had 9 mouths to feed last night and i still and 1 and half S/C full, lol. Lots now in freezer. but i have tried a chilli lasagne . smells gorg. I always cook the lasagne sheets first before i use i know the pack says no pre-cook needed but i always find unless you make a sloppy mince mix then the lasagne goes really weird if not pre cooked.plus it doesn't take long to pre-cook and imo you can't cut corners wth lasagne. has to be cooked in an oven with lots of cheese on the top to make it all golden brown. ( can u tel i'm a big lasagne fan, lol)

so one chilli con carne lasagne built and in frige ready for tea tonight. yum yum.

Does a crumble qualify for the baking thread?
If it does, could someone please tell me how to make one, because we went out foraging at the weekend, and now have around 4 kilos of lovely Victoria plums. I imagine a little stem ginger with the plums (plus cinnamon) would be good, but I have absolutely no idea how to make the crumble topping. All I know, is that I like it really crunchy.
