very embarassed: a ginger loaf cake from a packet in Mr Sainsbury's. We kept it (so actually I made it yesterday) a day before eating it and had it with butter on. It was all squidgy like the Macvitties ones, and really good. Ooops - I never make packet cakes so I don't know why it found its way into my trolley, but it might again ! - would be nice with custard or ice cream as a pud too......

Picked up a HUGE bag of bananas on special offer for £1 yesterday so today I made a tray of Banana & Chocolate chip cake.

    Very easy to do

    Oven 180C 350F GM4

Lightly grease 9" square tin (but see note at end)

    Mash 4 ripe bananas
    Beat in 140g/5oz soft butter/marg
    250g/9oz light soft brown sugar
    2 eggs
    250g/9oz SR flour
Stir in 200g choc chips (i use Aldi/Lidl plain choc)
    OR 225g/8oz raisins

Bake for 40-45 mins or til skewer comes out clean

That's the recipe, BUT I use an old 13" X 10" grill pan lined with magic liner and use above X 1.5 ingredients or thereabouts - today i used

    6 bananas
    8oz spread
5oz dark brown soft sugar / 8oz demerrera sugar
    3 eggs
    13 oz SR flour
300g plain chocolate chopped into smallish chunks (Tastes much nicer with plain than milk)

Cooked in fan oven for 50 mins on 180C
Left in tin to cool before slicing/removing
    ENJOY!

I am on a diet so I dug out this Weightwatchers cookbook a few days ago and made the chocolate brownies, and today I made a lemon drizzle sponge. Both turned out lovely, and don't taste 'diet' at all, one of my friends wouldn't believe the brownies were only two points each :D

It's a very nice book, I'd recommend it.
