I thought that this was excellent and that the dialogue could only have been written by people with experience of alcohol and drugs.

 Hi Shelly, Good luck with your AF week. You're in the right place.
we all understand how you feel. Seen some really good replies to your
earlier post.
Gien - know what you mean! Booze takes up a lot of the day. Both
drinking it an recovering from it. I hadn't heard of beer o'clock!
I'm on 6 AF days now please Honeybear. Had my first AF Saturday
since when? The late 70's probably  !
Love and best wishes to all and a good week ahead.

Jo - forgot to say -thanks for the info on the book I'll order it0 -

I suppose the point I'm trying to make is that I need constantly reminding that it was bad....I was out of control.....and that little voice in my head can just go f off.
Quote from the book...
'There is a temptation, once we are feeling healthier, physically and mentally, to forget the misery of active addiction. 'what was all the fuss about?' we think 'It wasn't really all that bad'
It was that bad.'
Spot on!
I have a quick debate most days about this in my head. PArt of me has forgotten the horror as my way of copong with it. Not deail, just parking it I suppose.
Hi again Eselt! Was worried about you.
Well done also MP....when you can stick to your plan wjhen it's all falling down around you then you're doing great and can feel proud....
Well done on coming here shelly...I was like that - I could go for 3 days without and convinced myself it was fine but I can't remember many wine bottles where I just had one glass...no matter how big!
As for wine boxes...ouch!
take care everyone else...sorry to dash...I wasn't supposed to be on here...stuff to do.....For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -

It's me again
I have had a quiet day, I finally got up very late, went shopping and did not get any alcohol, but I am just having a cup of tea and some giant Cadbury Buttons (om nom nom God I hope they don't discontinue these!!)
I have found out that when I qualify (Just one exam to go) I could be on an extra £20k a year and that has spurred me on somewhat to do some studying... will spend this evening at the books, with the odd MSE break :A Drinking is not conducive (sp?) to learning therefore it's soft drinks for meeeee
So...I am on 8 days AF and the plan is to stay AF one day at a time. No social stuff this week which makes it easier.
I have two matches on Mysinglefriend.com which my friend signed me up for...exciting but scary as hell at the same time, I might have to actually email/meet them
The books mentioned today look interesting and I'm going to have a look on Amazon, trying to avoid looking at DVD boxsets etc!! I missed episode 1 of Grey's on Thursday because I forgot that I still have Living after downgrading my Virgin TV package.
Right I'll shut up now - Have a lovely evening xAF days in Feb 2010 - 2 :A

To our lovely Care Bear, 24 af days for me please, hope your weekend with Mr HB has been fab? Big hugs and thankyou for scoring this month :A (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Fay thankyou for scoring in February, and I hope that your cunning plan will work for you hunny? I too have been looking at myself more closely, whilst I don't think I am alcoholic I do know that I do not have the correct relationship with alcohol. One glass leads to one bottle leads to possibly more. Yes its the same old story and a pattern that must be broken. Hugs hunny and good luck with getting to where you want to be. :A (()) xxxxxxxxxx
Ps I change internet provider at the end of the month, my router has arrived but I am not very techy, I shall see how it goes?
Jo hunny hugs and take one day at a time, dig out your books and anything else that can keep you focused. This year you will do it. Hold the resolve and re-read your posts on how miserable it ultimately makes you feel. :A (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Squizz good luck with the studying, and wow a poss 20k pay rise. :T way to go you(()) xxxxxxxxxxx
Pricey and Eselt hugs and nice to see you posting (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
MollyPolly so sorry to hear family wise that things are very stressful, you have kindly offered me a shoulder before, feel free to use mine. As we live so close it would be easy to meet up if you feel you would like to talk to someone? Bear it in mind hunny. Please take care (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Pbt thankyou for your post, and yes it is so easy to think that it really wasn't that bad, but then we know it was. Keep the focus and stay vigilant. You are doing so fab :T CW you too hunny and Angie :T (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks Budgie but I think it was Icelandic Maiden.
I have had lovely day. We took DD swimming and she was first time getting more confident about being on the float thingy and swimming on her own. Now I just need to get on with writing some letters - blaah. Very tired so sorry for not replying to all the posts properly.
When you are back HB can I have 24 please?"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."
