These drinking habits did not build up overnight & so they can't be dealt with overnight. You'll get there, just keep on at it :)

Never was a truer phrase stated

It's taken me 14 months to get to this stage. A long and winding road indeed. Progression for a lot of last year increasing AFD then decreasing towards the end of the year. Since Jan back on track and feeling like a giver upper at long last. Would not have seen myself feeling this way last year and would not have believed in myself either. Still felt alcohol controlling my thinking but not aware of it then.

As the months rolled by I got to this stage with some large obstacles to overcome and some easy downhill paths. A good journey overall and pleased I jumped onboard :D Hope you feel the same

Thanks HB. Yeah I know that - sometimes I am too hard on myself. I'd love to be a GU but I'm struggling with it. For some reason, I can't seem to have a meal out or a weekend away without having to have a drink. And oh the bells, the bells. Most nights I can resist but if I feel down, I simply have to have a drink. I did really well in January and February but not so good this month for some reason. Anyway, off for a bath now so bye for now xx

18 for me please Shaggy after last night - will not be AF today as sneaked a crafty pint of shandy in the pub after 3 hours on the allotment - tasted really good but didn't want another - so that's good right?

  • Same here PBT! As I have only drunk for 4 days out of 59 I feel like this too and I feel as though the real me is coming out day by day :j

30mins yoga completed tonight - my word it was difficult - all my muscles have contracted up bigstyle from a few years ago! Still need to make a start and see the progression. Planning an hour session at the weekend and need to keep the motivation going onwards and upwards.

I really feel I am in a new phase of life at present. I hope it is

    Excellent!

Says in NO BIG DEAL-John Coates that...when you give up drinking it's not a bad person becoming good it's a sick person becoming well and thats really how I feel. Too many years wasted at the bottom of a bottle.
