Honeybear - I am with you with the stepper. Going for a jog anyday!

I want to thank you that person who some time ago talked here about the black dog books. I finally got mine both the I had a black dog and Living with a black dog. I read them both with tears streaming down and I haven't manage to figure out why the reaction. Perhaps it was relief that I have something to show to BF when he comes here next time to explain how I have felt last 2-3 weeks. They are truly brilliant books.

Must go and take The Dog (not the black one) for a quick walk before fetching DD. I will be MAD tonight so 23 for me please Shaggy. By the way has anybody else noticed that Shaggy pledged 17 AF days and has been AF the whole month so far :T WOOHOO you!!!

I can agree with you there Lurkio. I don't crave fags like I do drink or I can ignore the occasional craving for a cigarette.

I just got my liver function test back from my GP and he said the results were fine and showed no problems.

    That's brilliant news 115K :T

MissP, hope headache is better. I'm feeling like that too. I think it's air pressure and sinuses because of this grim weather.

On the work front, I'm not sure how much you earn currently but could you do all Mrs Mopping at, say, £10 an hour and keep just within your tax threshold. That's what someone I know does. Alternatively, couldn't you ask your parents to pick up Piglet just one day a week so you could carry on fitting in your SIL? Or maybe you could just carry on as you are until he's a little older then he could go to a breakfast club/after school club for you to fit in mopping once a week?

That was me! I'll take any credit I can today...been one of THOSE days.

They are great books, glad you found them...er.....moving? useful? etc etc. x

Some really great posts here the last couple of days. I can only speak for me and it's only my point of view etc etc but I am so glad I have stopped drinking. All my relationships are better, my outlook sunnier and I've got my va va voom back.

I can see so many similarities to peoples stories here. Especially the one today from MOD. That not being able to stop once you'd stopped that was me all over and like graham says it's progressive. So when I was 18 2 pints of lager would have me near comatose, before I stopped drinking I could 'do' 2 bottles of wine, shots, vodkas etc etc and still be up for more. I remember an occasion at a works do a few years back. It was going home time, lights coming o at the venue etc. We were both well and truely hammered, staggeringly drunk, but still felt compelled to order more wine. Normal drinkers don't do that...I can see that now.

Right total waffle there....off to do something...not sure what yet.

Wow - some great posts on here over the last day or so. GC - I love to read your posts - you always hit the nail on the head and tell it how it really is with drinking. I realise I have more of a problem than I first thought with drinking - I'm shocked at how easily I can slide back into drinking every day again - despite being sure I'd kicked the habit. Having said that, I'm back on track this week and reporting 9/27 please Shaggy. I'm regretting declaring such a big target for this month - I think for April I won't set one and just take it as it comes cos every time I see my total, I feel like I've failed myself. Mind you, 9 days AF is 9 more than I was doing before Christmas so let's look on the positive side! Have a good evening everyone and thank you again for being there xx

I don't know if you're a giver-upper or a cutter-downer? CD* as opposed to GU*? These drinking habits did not build up overnight & so they can't be dealt with overnight. You'll get there, just keep on at it :)

Same here PBT! As I have only drunk for 4 days out of 59 I feel like this too and I feel as though the real me is coming out day by day :j

30mins yoga completed tonight - my word it was difficult - all my muscles have contracted up bigstyle from a few years ago! Still need to make a start and see the progression. Planning an hour session at the weekend and need to keep the motivation going onwards and upwards.

I really feel I am in a new phase of life at present. I hope it is
