    :hello:

Delighted to hear about the eczema clearing up sparkles, it really was getting you down earlier in the week. I'd like to know the cream you use too as OH has it (also in winter and on his legs DB). He thinks it's down to months of cold winds and central heating.

Good luck with your paperwork marru, I know it can be tempting to blank it out but you'll feel so much better when you make a bit of progress. You'll probably have written those letters by the time you read this!

I'm looking forward to you getting back to stripeyness fay, and so glad you enjoyed the fish and chips.

:T to everyone on the 72 hour challenge (or was it 96?)
Almost had a 'sod it' moment tonight. I'd been to visit SIL in hospital, poor soul, and I felt like blotting it out with a drink. But I've got similar 'rules' to you (fay and marru). It's not about drinking alone because OH is always here but I won't drink on 'ordinary' evenings at home. I drink at weekends, evenings out and when we have people round. I haven't taken to grabbing people in off the street.... yet:D

It's a struggle towards my target this month as a lot going on but I plan to get there. Tonight may be last MAD night for a while but there's plenty of month left after my little holiday next week.

    5AF please Shaggy.

Hi all, I'm very proud of myself.

Hubby asked if I wanted to go for a drink just me and him so I told him I'd probably stick to soft drinks.

While he had about 6 double G&Ts I had 6.....lime and sodas! :j

Hubby wasn't best pleased and called me 'boring' and said this seemed to be just another one of my 'things'. I gave up smoking last year which is apparently my other 'thing'....He said that I didn't drink a lot, that I only drank once a week and I said yes but when I did it was well over my weekly limit and he scoffed at this, didn't think it was a big deal.

He seemed to think I was lying about my trip to the doctors and what the doctor had said! I asked him what his problem was as my cutting down on my drinking wasn't harming him.

When we got home he confessed that he knew he was having problems with his dependency on his drinking. He is stressed with work and his way of unwinding is through drink. He has an appointment to register at his doctors tomorrow (hasn't registered at a doctors in 7 years) so I suggested he talk about this to them.

I'm not sure if he will get sorted, I said if he wants to cut down then I will support him with that...but he said he likes drinking. Not sure what else I can do but I proved to myself last night that I can go out and not drink...next test will be with the mates but I'll try and keep to minimum drinks when out with them :)

    Good morning,

Thanks Maman, I haven't as yet but I have done lots of sorting out. Still have pile of papers missing and I will find them before going to work today.

Lilith - well done you! Just one little silly thing - why don't you change your avatar as the one you have might give you the wrong message - runs away to hide now.....

Have a MAD day - in all the nicest way of course - everyone!

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

    Morning everyone!

Sparkles - glad to hear the excema cream is working.

Maman - Are you off somewhere nice?

Lilith - sounds like you OH is in denial a bit. I hope he uses the visit to the doctors as an opportunity to talk to them about his drinking. Sounds like he's trying to get you to drink in order to make HIS drinking seem more acceptable (hence taunting you by calling you boring....think if it was me he would of had his drink over his head at that point:rotfl:). Well done you on sticking to your guns!!!:T:T

PBT - very clever analogy. You are so right. Alcohol IS a drug and yet its never spoken about as such really.

Piglet off to nusery this afternoon!:T:jNot that I look forward to nursery days or anything:o. Gives me a few hours to do stuff before work. Few errands to run today so will be out and about.

    Have good days all!

    Miss P
    xx
