Hello lovies - about to hit the hay but will see what you've all been upto

I'm fine and reporting in for 19 AFDS Honeybear

Just been bodybalance and hoem now exhausted - most of afternoon lugging lots and lots of willows, clumping around in huge chainsaw protective gear - - liek being in moon clobber - but it was fun!

WBF, Mookiepook, BB, Jo and others I will add you to my list tomorrow :), lol to all this dentist talk you lot - needles - ergh!

Fedupandsparkles well done on getting over the wobble :), WBF - that joke!! -

Marru hugs - my dd did something similar for a bit, but then it sort of stopped all of a sudden. I know it sounds silly, try not worry too much

Thanks so much for all the kind, welcoming messages. Eugh.... here comes the honesty. I don't drink to get drunk. I never have. However, I drink way too much and use it to relax. I drink every night. I hate how I feel in the morning but it feels so good at the time. I love the taste of wine but find it difficult to stop at one glass. I will often drink half a bottle.

So today was my second AF day this month. I went out for a meal with a friend and shrugged off the usual bottle we share. I only felt able to do this because I knew I was going to come on here later on and didn't want to say I'd lapsed so soon. I don't want drink to play such a huge part in my life anymore.

Great stuff on passing on the wine, I prefer water with my meals - good for you.

    :j2 AFDS :j

Well done on being so honest - thanks for sharing. I'm sure you'll find your own level and different ways to relax which don't make you feel rubbish in the morning - I'm beginning to find things I did pre-drinking to relax - reading, going out to the gym etc - you might want (and this is ONLY a suggestion) to try and think of those things that also put you in that nice relaxed place - anything come to mind?

I've altered some bits of my routines that has helped me to change the open the bottle of wine when I'm home thing.

    PBT posted a great link

50 ways to leave your larger......its quite humourous but has alot of great tips and ideas about cutting down.....or giving up.............. http://giveupdrinking.co.uk/ worth a nosey and its got some good tips.

A few of us have put aside the money we 'didn't spend on alcohol' and have found it soon mounted up and I used some of this money for treats just for me (books, candles, music etc) - now I'm saving up for a trip to meet up with some of this lot :D

Good luck - and nice to see you posting again today. x

I don't think many of us do. In my opinion, we drink to change the way we are feeling, and sometimes a consequence of that is drunkenness.
I am glad you have the urge and desire to change how alcohol affects your life. Don't get complacent, and do remember that you can only change what you do today, not tomorrow nor what you did in the past. This 24 hrs only

:T:T:T Well done newme. You've made an excellent start. There's loads on here (me included) that were in the habit of opening (and sadly drinking:o) a bottle of wine very night as a matter of course. This thread has helped me break that habit so stick around!!

HB, so very sorry to hear your visitors have returned. I know absolutely nothing about mouse habits but :grouphug: and hope that Thursday will do the trick.

jo, I think you should really go for the PA in the school job. I know this is a cliche but whatever happens, an interview will be good experience. The only people wo could top you would be existing PAs from other schools/areas. Like any job, it depends on who applies at the same time. Sell yourself big time!!!!
As for the agency you need to weigh up how much you want/need the money with how much you would miss the term time only job. ( Is there a suckng eggs smilie???)

Not been AF tonight, been out for supper with friends and carried on drinking when I got home. All planned but I do feel a lightweight compared with most of you lot. Must remind myself this is a cutting-down thread too but your efforts are inspirational!:A

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Totally agree Maman, thanks. Doubt very much I'll be offered interview even to be honest, I know from where I work we usually get inundated with 2-300 applications for every job we advertise and although there are probably only 5 or 6 possibles out of that lot, someone has to read them all and they aren't read properly, they are scanned. So once someone reads that I'm an admin assistant, they will bin it for trying to run before I can walk. They won't see that I was a PA at senior level for 9 years previous to that. I'm going to spend a lot of time over my covering letter, luckily I think the post has only just been advertised as closing isn't for a good week or two so loads of time to draft and draft :D Handwritten or typed??

    Morning Shaggy

Feeling good today, mouth still swollen again this morning but definitely better than it's been in a while. This must be the drinking that's making it worse.

HB, that'll be 11 please (think I told you last night but can't scroll back :D) (that's 5 consecutive days for me :D)

Ooooh gotta run, just seen the time
