Thanks so much for all the kind, welcoming messages. Eugh.... here comes the honesty. I don't drink to get drunk. I never have. However, I drink way too much and use it to relax. I drink every night. I hate how I feel in the morning but it feels so good at the time. I love the taste of wine but find it difficult to stop at one glass. I will often drink half a bottle.
So today was my second AF day this month. I went out for a meal with a friend and shrugged off the usual bottle we share. I only felt able to do this because I knew I was going to come on here later on and didn't want to say I'd lapsed so soon. I don't want drink to play such a huge part in my life anymore.0 -

HB so sorry to hear the mice are back. They are persistent creatures but you will defeat them so don't be too despondent. If you're trying to tempt them I heard they like choklit and it's a good excuse to buy some.
Very well done to New Me and hello to the other new people.
I have reached my target and I am on 16/16 as of yesterday. I haven't hit any of my monthly targets since May last year and only made it 2 months in 2009. This is also more AFDs than any month in 2009. It's also my largest number of AFDs in a month in more than 8 years. :j
I'm chuffed about doing over half the month, that means I've been sober more than not too! Now I will be hitting my swollen head on the doors as I go through! I intend to keep this up, I feel like I'm sleeping well for the first time for ages but I'm craving more sleep now.
Wish I was able to pop on here more more as this thread has made a huge difference to how I think and I still wonder what I'm missing and how you are all doing.
And now to lower the tone - warning, crass joke alert!
Two women go out one night without their husbands. On the way back, just before 2am, both of them drunk, they felt the urge to pee.
They noticed that the only place to stop was a cemetery. Scared and very drunk, they stopped and decided to go there anyway. The first one did not have anything to wipe herself with, so she took her underwear off, used them and discarded them. The second, not finding anything either, thought "I'm not getting rid of my underwear..." so she used the ribbon of a nearby flower wreath.
The next morning, the two husbands were talking to each other on the phone, and one says to the other: "We have to be on the look-out; it seems that our wives were up to no good last night, my wife came home without her underwear..." The other one said, "You're lucky, mine came home with a card stuck to her bum that read, "We will never forget you."0 -

Marru I've sent you a pm.
All AF here for me. Had a really strng craving for red wine earlier- not my usual choice of poison, but it passed!
I shouldn't really say this but ....I'm going to anyway! I had a wisdom tooth out under sedation rather than general aneasthetic. What a great buzz! Don't know what they give you but it was great!
Hope everyone is feeling warm and cosy...was bloody freezing today.
