I don't know if anyone else might share this experience but I told an old friend about how much my drinking was worrying me and she doesn't seem to accept that it is a much of a problem.

It made me appreciate more than ever the people on here who do understand.

Same here. I haven't talked about it with many people but when alcohol generally gets discussed it does my head in how little people know about units etc, to the point of not believing me when I say how many are in drinks!

I once tried to talk about it with MR HB (a couple of years ago) & he was disapprovingly amazed at how much I drank. I didn't have the courage to talk to anyone about it after that for over a year :(

Thankfully he's improved since then :)

    Well done Miss Piggy!!!

I was longingly looking at the wine isles in Mr S today but was shopping with BF and he would not have let me buy any. I am in real danger zone this week as so much going on and I feel like hit by avalance. Violent dreams where someone with gun is chasing me is not helping either.

Tea: mashed potatoes, sauteed (sp?) curly kale, hollandaise sauce with prawns and oven baked salmon, pudding: tinned peaches and custard. Nom nom nom.

Anyway I have reached no 21 now please Fay.

DB - I know exactly what you mean - I think some times (in my case) I've kept those friends I felt comfy drinking alot with (ie glass wine instead of a cup of tea when you pop round) so when they then don't see you think you've a problem its probably because they don't want to address it at all........for you or for them

Miss P lovely to see you

Sparkles you're definitely on a roll - I hope you'll start to feel better soon :)

Marru hunny - hugs - glad BF is there for you - when does a BF become an OH?
Surely he's an OH by now????

HB - glad you've had a lovely scoff - I tried to talk to my OH and he was a bit like yours - amazed but OK now - and helpful but I don't talk to him much about it as he's almost the alcohol police - which jsut gets my back up and I buy wine just to spite him then (in the manner of a stroppy don't tell me what to do terrier lady)

    LOL

:) hugs to you all :)

I found OH implies a permanence in the manner of a husband. Not that I'm saying Marru's BF isn't permanent! (:o) I just found that as Mr HB is a BF I didn't like describing him that way & I prefer Mr HB to BF, even tho it is probably a little confusing *shrug*

Dinner was lovely...now for the washing up... *sigh* :(

I don't really know what the definition is. I guess he would be BF until we manage to sort out this 100 miles distance between us. I have been twice engaged and never married :o so hoping that it will be third time lucky for me.

Going to watch Heroes on iplayer as missed it last night. Hopefully will get some superpower to fight my nemesis in my dreams tonight.
