  • Morning everyone! Reporting in with a total of 10 AF days this month so far, thanks Fay. WBF - I've been (mostly) AF since New Year - just a few glasses of wine here and there when I've been out - and I have to say my sleep has improved so dramatically. It didn't at first but for the last couple of weeks, I've been sleeping deeply right through the night, it's like my body's catching up on all the lost sleep. Stick with it.
Marru - thanks for the link to that article - I'm following the Paul McKenna weight loss plan as you know and he quotes that in his book and at his live event. Very interesting.
Have a lovely day everyone and carry on FAFFing!
Sober October = 0 alcohol free days

I'm feeling all coldy and have taken a lemsip - so I'm faffing with a lemsip and a blanket

What you need is a hillbilly remedy :D :

Take 2 cloves garlic ... crush in a cafatierre, add grated ginger root, 5 cloves, whole lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of honey. Add boiling water. Leave for 10 minutes to infuse

Drink and sit well back from friends :D
Get up next day stinking but feeling great :rotfl:

and double? I'm not awake enough to understand that this morning. I'm up to 7/14 now, and not yet half way through the month. FAFFed while cooking and watching Being Human, about 5 episodes behind the new series but enjoying it.

Last night I felt a bit cheated as it's the first bad night I've had since FAFFing. I've got tingly skin, even though I've been moisturising and was very restless last night in bed although I didn't do my drunken pacing round the house and posting on here at 4am trick. The more I don't drink the tireder I feel. Guess I really need to let my body recover then. Any thoughts from you lot?

    Have a good day everyone.

I think a few of us went through this or going through it. I am 6+ weeks into teetotal and just feeling a little better - am pleased with myself if I come home from work and stay up until bedtime!! and I've stopped doing nodding dog at work! It's the longest I've gone without a drink in 25 years! Overall my sleeping has improved dramaically.

Though on a negative side I've exchanged one addiction with another - I can sit for hours playing bejeweled blitz!! I should be in work in 5 mins and I've got to get a bath yet! I only work 11 miles away :rotfl:

Day 11 af for me pls

I just wanted to say hi and share this with you

I find it odd when I meet up with pals now that they don't seem to be really concerned about how much they are drinking. They don't seem to notice or care? They have alot of comments about my reducing my drinking but none about their own - why is it that we fear standing up and saying um - I'm cutting down/giving up a bit and some of my pals habits are the same - I don't ridicule/comment/probe/question them........

    Anyone else feel the same?

I know my units, I know I should keep below the recommended limits - I know I shoudl have FAFF days

Sometimes I think I am surprised about the journey I am on - and whilst its tough and thought provoking at times and very challenging often, I'm glad I'm on it with you all.

That's my two penneth worth - got to dash - sorry if random - not feelign very well!

Catch you all properly later BHB ta for the recipe!

Exactly the same as me Ms Fay! They are not concerned at all about their level of drinking as if it does not cause any problems and is a normal part of life as you grow up.

Just waiting for the energy to increase over the next few weeks (hopefully!)

Hi WBF, experience shared completey with me, my skin is reacting big style to something (don't know what). Started in Oct and on and off since then and woke myself up scratching last night plus I am struggling to get up in the morning week in week out! Wish I could wake up straight away with some more energy!

Well, I don't feel pressured by my friends particularly but I AM beginning to notice just how much drinking is mentioned outside of drinking situations - you know, people saying thing like 'ohh, can't wait to open a bottle this evening' or talking about their hanagovers. A drinking culture is very pervasive.

I had another FAFF day last night so I am on 10, if I include today, which I will as I have no intention of drinking.
I'm off tomorrow evening on my holidays - hopefully a fairly AF time - I want ot continue waking up feeling fine!
    Trying to keep in budget.
