  • I can totally appreciate that it is really, really difficult for some people to go to their GP and discuss their drink issues, but your GP's are their to help, and they have confidentiality so whatever you say to your doctor, remains between you and your doctor, they are not their to judge. Also there are a lot of free drop in centres that offer confidential advice to people, that people could find on google.

Be easy on yourself, if you are used to a tipple on an evening just cut yourself down gradually, glass by glass. Then take a full break for a while, I know it will be hard, but think of it as your doing it for your health. I keep repeating myself, but lots and lots of water and think about taking liver friendly vitamins to help you back to a healthly new you! xx

What lovely non-judgemental posts you have made.:A

I am going to be AF for a while after tonight. I have been drinking too much these last few days, two and three quarters of a bottle of wine tonight for instance.:o It seems like I suddenly have the urge to go on a total binge and I can't seem to stop myself.

    Hey 115K,
I haven't had a FAFF day yet either. Been out and that was Ok but got home and opened the bottle of wine. You did brilliantly in January!
Keep that in mind and go for it again. You CAN do it and you already have
    done before.

Sometimes I wonder if trying to control it so much can be such a strain it can make us just give up trying and go for it big time. Not saying you are like that but i can understand that binge ifeeling you mentioned.
I think giving up completely might be better for some of us.

Anyway, take care and be good to yourself.

  • Hello to you all again - bedrooms' tidy - I'm about to pamper - better late than never.

115k - I know what you mean - I'll be happy to score your FAFF when you're good and ready

December baby - I hope your book arrives soon (did you order Living sober?)- I dip into it and out of it most days - I'm taking it with me this weekend - its covered in pretty purple paper (I'm not embarrassed about the title I just want to have the ability to read it when I want with no funny looks IYSWIM).

Some folks are OK at controlling thier drinks, some find trying to control it makes their life a misery

We're all on different paths - I hope you find yours soon - try many - you'll find one that suits you.

    I'm Fay and I'm a FAFF'er :) - with a tidy bedroom, a lovely new bed and half a bag packed!!!

Hugs chaps - up for a bit yet - take care of yourselves

What a lucky bunch we are.

Family girl - thank you so much for your response - I've been scared to go as I'm a single mum and always think the worst thing will happen if I talk about them (ie someone might take my kids) its funny how paranoid I get.

I'm going to seriously consider going - (I know I always say it) but now I'm not so scared. Thank you.

Well I`m having some seriously bad luck at the moment....strangely enough the bells are quiet although I admit I wish had something to block out the bad stuff for a while.

Anyway....4 days for me please....shall get up early.....maybe an early morning walk.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

    Morning!

Waves to those up at this ridiculous hour. I have 50 minutes to plough through a pile of paper before going to work to do that very same thing.

But on the positive note I will be FAFFing with BF this weekend blissysmile.gif
