First plus unfair rebate

little bit lost here - you said your complaint was for an unfair rebate, but you then you've gone onto say your complaint is for mis selling - what's with the FOS at the moment - a complaint for mis selling (i.e against norton) or unfair rebate?ANY_CHANCE wrote: »Hello,
I complained to first plus re unfair rebate 2 years ago (feb 2008) they eventually offered 50%.
I did not accept this amount and took my complaint to FOS it was with FOS for 18 months and still awaiting adjudicator!:(
Because of continuing financial difficulties i got fed up of waiting and wrote to FP to accept their initial offer.
I have just had a letter back from them saying their offer doesnt stand....great!!
So i just thought i would post this ...not to put people off but just to make them aware of what can happen0 -
took it out in oct 2006
Hi there
In this case the FOS would be able to investigate then, so as Tiggrae says go this direction now then, you can do this by either downloading and printing a complaints form online on their website or ring to arrange for them to post one direct to you, enclose copies of correspondence as well.

Good luck, please keep us posted.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

does the letter say it is their final response,
if it doesn't, write back asking them to review their decision as you feel that you were miss-sold the policy and list the reasons why again.
i beleive there is a second template letter on this site.
if it is their final response then go to the FOS, if you have been miss-sold and you can show this then you have nothing to lose,
its a lot of money just to accept Nortons decision, especially if they have already mis-led you once before.
its only the price of a stamp and a couple of phone calls to you, but will cost Norton loads anyway.
go for it. let us know how you get on.I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free0 -

My mis selling complaint was returned by FOS saying that they could not look at Norton as they did not regulate them so ii then complained about First plus unfair rebate it has been with FOS for over 18 months and not getting anywhere.
Then new info (thanks to Di and Marshalka et al) that i may be able to re submit Norton mis-selling complaint
hope that helps
ps
I wrote to FOS to say that i would accept FP initial offer of increased rebate which would have been 50% but FP will not pay this now due to the length of time lapsed so i dont htink anything is happening with that now“most people give up just as they are about to achieve success”If you think you are going through hell keep going - Sir Winston ChurchillIf You Can't Change It, Change the Way You Think About It.SW, 13st5lb, -4 1/2, -1,(12st13.5lbs)0 -

I will definately resend the complaint (you never know i may have forgotten to add some paperwork) and hopefully they will reply with their reason
I wont speak to the FOS by phone because at the moment i get flustered and i cannot concentrate on what they say, best to write it down
It turns out FOS did receive my recent resubmitted complaint but they sent their reply to completely the wrong address (not even my own one).
Luckily (or unluckily)it was sent to a man in the village who kindly saw it was important info inside and sent it back to FOS.
Anyway they have resent all paperwork back that i sent them and said they have contacted Norton insurance services ltd and said for me to write to them when they have sent their final response.
Norton have sent their final response and said it is now out of the time frame...
Gosh this all make me cross but just have to keep on with it.
So will have to contact FOS again
i am not expecting anything to come from this now but will keep on just in case“most people give up just as they are about to achieve success”If you think you are going through hell keep going - Sir Winston ChurchillIf You Can't Change It, Change the Way You Think About It.SW, 13st5lb, -4 1/2, -1,(12st13.5lbs)0 -

I see, so see what happens, you always have Barclays to pursue, I know this must be so frustrating for you hun, but I'm sure you will eventually get there, you have been strong so far anyway well done, and keep at them.:TThe one and only "Dizzy Di"
