Argh blooming royal mail!

Options
My brother ordered a new video card from amazon and the postie brought it today, my brother watched him get out his van, walk up to our door and stuff the package in the plant we have sitting next to our door.

He didn't even bother to knock.

Do you think i should email royal mail and amazon regarding this?

Carrie.

Did you get the name of the company off the van?? It may not have been royal mail, i would contact amazon and say that you watchedhim stuff it in a plant (which in theory could have damaged it) did he put anything through the door to say where he had put it? If not that's also not good service, anyone could have seen that outside your house and trotted of with it!!
MSE has changed me for the better!!

Hi, It was a red royal mail van, he didn't put anything throught the door. If it had of been me i would have said something to him but my brother just watched him in shock.

    Thanks, i'll contact amazon now.

Hmmm my postie often does this(well he puts it behind the bins next to the door) but that's because he knows I don't appreciate being woken up at 6:30am :) neither does my neighbours who are shift workers. If he can see I'm up and about he'll get me to take in any packages for our neighbours too :)
Frankly I think it's very considerate of him to not wake me at 6am for a parcel :)

I wouldn't have minded if he had delivered it at 6 but this was about midday.

Our postie had a bad habit which took several complaints to resolve. We have a porch with UPVC windows which we tend to leave slightly open during hot weather to prevent it becoming a sauna. So what does postie do with parcels? Instead of knocking, he teases the window open wide enough and stuffs it in!! So then it's a 7-foot drop onto a stone floor. Durrrr!

There's absolutely no point complaining to Royal Mail - it will just make you angrier! I speak from bitter experience!

why dont you all complain to the actual postie or the office where they work because sounding off on here wont stop him/her doing it. He may think he's doing you a favour and until you tell him he'll keep doing it.

More annoying things that postmen/women do are:

    a) leave the gate open every day because they're too damn lazy to close it.
    b) walk across the lawn in front of the house because they're too damn lazy to use the path

I had that problem despite me asking him on many occasions to close it behind him, didn't listen so I joined Catalink via quidco and requested a load of catalogues and when I was grinning at him struggling down the path with a heavy sack one day I think he realised what was going on and since then has closed the gate behind him.
