Ive used Ebay bulbs for the last year or so, can usually pick up 4 x H4 bulbs for £5 delivered, yea they only last 6 months - 1 year but considering 1 bog standard bulb from Halfrauds is £9.79 and will last the same amount of time Id say its worth a pop, usually the ebay ones are white/blue, the ones I bought were very good, bright enough to get a few flashes on straight roads and lit the road up much better than Halfords ones0

I got some Phillips Xtreme on Ebay. One thing you can do to reduce the chance of getting fakes is get one who also has a website dedicated to selling bulbs, and is in the UK. The way to tell if it's a fake or not is the glass on Phillips Xtreme bulbs is smaller than your standard cheapies.0

If people are flashing you, you might want to get your headlights aligned. This is often necessary after changing bulbs.0 -
another vote for the philips xtreme bulbs. ive had mine for a while now, they have dulled a bit through time though, but haven't failed.
i did have a set of nightbreakers but they broke at night (as lum said) after a few months.
i have a spare set of philips xtreme waiting to be fitted but haven't had the need yet....work permit granted!0 -
PIAA lamps are good but a bit pricey. I have H113 however the current equivalent is H291

Thats what I thought, but beam patter was checked yesterday for MOT and its fine, I think its just how crap the Lincolnshire roads are so the cars judder over bumps so it looks like you are flashing people0 -
I fitted a anti dazzle HID kit to my car and the light output is amazing.
Yeah I know the legalities on fitting them, I went for the OEM look and got colour temp 4300k so it looks like the BMW & Mercs.Google gives you answers use it.........0 -
So why dont they fit these bulbs as "Standard" to new cars? if their that good?0

Standard bulb 99p. Better bulb £9.99. 2 bulbs in each car (4 where the main and dipped are separate), and you've saved a lot of money. Most people won't know or care about the difference. Besides, if light brightness is something people really care about they'll spend a few hundred extra for the HID light option when they buy a car.0 -
