  • While waiting for Pay Plan to phone me this afternoon I've had a busy morning changing my DDs. Going swimmingly until I wanted to change the Rent, they asked that I do it in an email. So am waiting a response to my request to confirm the email address before sending details like that over the web. Kind of silly, I know, that I was happy to give details over a phoneline but an email seems more unsecure. Good news when changing the Gas lady says I was in credit so has changed the monthly payment, saved nearly £8. Am deciding if I should just send token payments this month, even though I would have money not to miss payments. Does sound a tempting idea to save a little bit more if the DMP is going to happen anyway and both PP phonecallers have said send a token payment. Bit like LIBT I feel a bit odd doing that. Just need the courage I guess and this board certainly empowers you:T

Never had much delings with children, looks like I've missed out on exploding tummys:eek:

Like you, we've always been payers and the thought of not paying filled me with the heebyjeebies so I sent the min to all of our creditors instead of tokens. This did NO GOOD at all especially with the state owned guys, the HBOS guy actually told me how come you paid last month and not this month? And RBS told me cos I was not delinquent yet it would take three months before they stopped interest. A lot of the others just went through their process anyway and defaulted me straight away (Amex and Cap I). So it appears that feeling worried and trying to pay as much as possible does absolutely no good, loyalty is not a word that banks recognise. Keep the money that you would normally have sent this month and build up your emergency fund, beter for you, and b8*** the bank:T:T

Great post PDD, that's made my decision for me. Although Payplan advised this, it's easier said than done and you've just made it easier.

    Hi

Nothing much to report. Rang Coop last thursday to open a new account they said I was accepted but so far havent received anything in the post. Also nothing yet from CCCS (clicked button Saturday). Now I dont know what to do about the CC's bills for March which have started to arrive. Do I send a letter with a token payment? If so what should I put in the letter? Really want to start sorting out DD's and moving them over to Coop. Loan payment is due on Monday as well. Trust me to now be impatient when its taken me months to face up to my problem. :)

Candy, refer to my post this morning, the template for the token payment letter (whilst DMP is being set up) is there.

  • Hello and welcome HiH. I have just got off the phone with a lovely lady at Pay Plan. PP and CCCS are two of the debt free companies that help us "poor" souls if we are not doing DMP ourselves. I'm sure if you Google Pay Plan, make sure it isn't Pay Pal:rotfl: you will find out who and what they are.

Am going to send token payments this month. Feeling rather naughty :p but again the lady stressed paying only a token and if it isn't going to make a difference by paying up, here goes nothing!! Off to transfer a bit more into the Co-op from HSBC. PP say they won't contact them until they know my wages have gone into my new bank account. Off to phone Virgin and get them to change the DD as well, fingers crossed they are as easy as all the others except the rent.

  • Hi Help Is Needed,

    Welcome,
Payplan and CCCS are companies that help people struggling to make payments to their creditors. They give you advise and help you to contact your creditors and explain your situation. You need to get all your debts together and see what and who you owe. I am with CCCS and they have been fantastic as has everyone on this Thread I must stress!!!. You will find they are all similar in what they do. Only you can decide who you wish to go for. Everyone here is doing or decideing to a Debt Management Plan (DMP) be it solely or with Payplan or CCCS.
Im sure someone else will be along soon with some more advise. Good luck.
