Cheers True, was I right on the asset thing? Is it in case you have a 2nd home you could sell or shares etc?
Yeah, you're on the button mate. If you have "surplus" assets (second homes, third cars etc) then as far as debt management is concerned, its always better to sell in order to pay off debts if possible.Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
PS I still haven't had a !!!!!!! Fingers crossed for Friday!! How are you getting on with Shadow in the Wind?Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840

True Um not sure about being sacred, although it sounds pretty good
So glad you had an awesome day, sounds like you and your OH deserve it.
So heres a big  to you both and the even shorter road to debt-freedom!!
Lovely to have you on board Jeddy, dont worry about the assets thing, like true said they wont take anything, just makes more sense to use surplus assets to pay off debt.
The Wad/Prof Pat I would just keep mumm on the money front. Best off to have it in a tin under the bad (ooops giving my secrets away :rotfl:) than let your creditors have it. And no, you dont have to declare it. I think I read somewhere that you are entitled to have a rainy day savings as long as you arent saving regularly yourself, as they would prefer you to put this money into your DMP.
Dont worry though, if you have set up a savings account to put monthly money for car maintenance, xmas etc your are allowed to do this. In fact the CCCS person I spoke to even recommended that, as well as having seperate accounts for different things. I have 3 one for food or general shopping, one for petrol and one to keep money in for car, hairdressers, dentist, clothes and birthdays etc. It makes managing my monthly budget ten times easier
Just re-read your post tedsd, wouldn't it be lovely to have a second home... a quite fancy the scottish highlands :drool:Debt at LBM - £11,505Debt 2011 = [STRIKE]8K[/STRIKE] £7760 - DF in July 2013DMP Paddle no. 1 Sealed Pot No. 1375Grocery Challenge Aug £418.31/£450 Sept £ /£4500 -

As were all February starters have any you any advice on defaults and Barclaycard i've started a new thread but wondered if any of you were asking the same questions?
Should we ask to be defaulted to it goes on our credit files and the 6 yrs starts ticking straight away?
Does anyone have BC's collections number that don't put me through to the hellish call centre?
Thanks hope the month is going ok. We will get there. xx0
