:rotfl: thanks guys!! I can't believe I've got a job!!! :T So proud of DH too :happyhear!!!

The massive, massive bonus to all this is that the extra money is going to cut down our estimated 10+ years on DMP to like, a number of years I have to work out :rotfl: :D

And I managed to avoid the lure of the yummy chips :rotfl:

Me personally..... I would avoid them until you get your paperwork and then in that paperwork you get a standard "notification of DMP" to send to all your creditors. I wouldnt mention it to them until you have everything "officially"

A HUGE :j:j:j:j:beer::j:j:j:j TO YOU TRUE (AND YOUR OH!)

I had written a huge reply to you all but the damn thing has vanished!!!

Losing everyone has given great advice so just go for it and get the DD's changed. You can do it by phone or online in some cases. Dont ignore any debts they'll only cause you more harm than good. If you start it today you'll be sorted by friday. Ask for the payments to start in March that way you'll have time to get monies swapped over and your income should be in. If you need to make payments before the DMP paperwork comes just send a token payment and a simple letter saying you are seeking financial advice and will send DMP notification soon.

Proff Pat keep the money - you never know when you might need it.

Lovely to see many more new faces, feel free to read back over the posts. Theres lots of info on debts, us and the wonders of Aldi :rotfl:

Oh and there is a link somewhere on the previous pages for checking what banks are linked to who ;)

Sorry, it'll save me 6 years - should be debt free in 4! Then we can save up for 2 years, wait until the defaults fall off our files and then new house :j

  • My current bank account is with Lloyds and they charge me £25 per month for the "priviledge". I am at my overdraft limit (250) and as of this month have opened a new account elsewhere to pay in my salary so that I can begin my DMP with CCCS. My problem is that if they insist on adding the account fee to the account each month, this will put me over my overdraft and they will charge me £6 per day until I am back within the agreed overdraft.

    Would you

    1) Pay in enough to cover the account fee until cccs contacts them and hope they will downgrade the account and freeze charges?
    2) Contact them directly and tell them this is going to be the situation and see if they will do that for me anyway
    3) Leave it and incur all these unnecessary charges until someone agrees otherwise?

I am joining cccs with a hope to reducing and clearing my debt (not incurring more!) so I am loathed to go for option 3 but really dont know what to do!

    Thanks all

    A x
  • Also - how do cccs distribute your money - do they divide it equally between all of them?

    Hi A,

I would write to Lloyds with your SOA and let them see that they are only making the situation worse and it will take you longer to pay them off the more they insist on adding the charges.

The CCCS will pro-rata your payments to your creditors (ie the highest creditor will get the most).
