Oh god True, I don't know what to suggest
Surely the CCCS can suggest other options? There must be something else you can do?
I know CAB is a bit of a nightmare purely because they're SO under staffed!
Do the CCCS question the debt remedy before they send welcome back/contact creditors etc? Assuming they'd have questioned any of my expenses by now? I know my travel costs were £200 per month (don't get my started!) and that doesn't include car/petrol! :mad:Paddle No 16

Hi Guys!
Can I join you? Have been through the Debt Remedy thing, received my brown envelope and client reference, completing my forms and getting ready to cancel all Direct Debits as soon as I have my new bank account (which hopefully wont take the two weeks they quoted or I am stuffed!)
Im so excited about getting on this plan and getting rid of this once and for all. Got just under 50k to pay off so here for the long haul!

Welcome
Well done on sorting your DMP, it feels good doesn't it? Well, calm before the storm anyway! Lol!
Where is your new bank account? I did mine with NatWest, applied online and it's taken 2 weeks to get welcome pack/account number/sort code, should be getting card/pin next week. Feels very strange as I've been with HSBC for 12 years!Paddle No 16

I know what you mean - have been with lloydstsb for over 15 years and they are going to be STUNNED when they receive my letters saying "ta da"! Scared a bit but excited too. Just hope this will be the beginning of the end. My new account is with Nationwide. Wanted a bank near work and Lloyds is my nearest, followed by Nationwide and then the only other one was Barclays - but I already have a debt with them. All I care about is getting the account number and sort code from them in time for payroll. fingers crossed!

Hi Achelois, I too am joining today. I have my DMP in place and letters have been sent. I am waiting for my new bank details from Barclays. They did not sign my paperwork correctly in branch and I have now been waiting 3 weeks. Hopefully I will have my new account any day.
Good Luck.Live for Today, Nobody is guaranteed Tomorrow:happylove0 -
Hi Achelois
Well done you for having your LBM :j
Feel free to ask us anything at all. We're all at diff stages and at 50K, you certainly arent the lowest.

Thanks guys, I've crunched the numbers again and the difference between what the CCCS like and what the CAB were happy with is nearly £250 a month! Think I'll bear with the CAB, they seem more flexible on the figures and I know I can live on far less than CCCS think I should, because I have been! God it's complicated isn't it? I've been thinking about self-managing - what do you guys think?
Ted I think it was a combination, I mean I freaked while I was in the session so had to leave early. I think going back to the Olympic Hoveringis the best way! Maybe park a bit further away every day or something. With the bathroom, I'm so proud of myself - did all the plumbing, tiling, plastering, door hanging, boxing in etc etc - only bit I needed help with was sorting out the electrics for the shower! Maybe I have a career in the offing....
Hi to all the noobs, sorry I haven't said hello personally, but welcome to the thread, we're a lovely, if slightly mad (especially when it comes to shopping trolleys) bunch!Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
I have just made my first payment to CCCS..........
Had a bit of a mare once I cancelled my DD . MBNA rang about 30 times I day even though I spoke to them numerous times. They even Rang my mum at work I havent a clue how they got her work number, So i had to confess my sins to her as I had been hiding it from everyone apart from GF.She was really good about it once I had told her I was getting straight through the CCCS.
Out of the blue yesterday I got a letter form MBNA saying that they are suspending all charges and have set my apr to 0% which is unbelievable considering they were charging me 30% apr.....
Good luck to you all...

Hey Naz - thanks for the message - not the lowest at 50k but not the highest either! And thankfully I have enough disposable income that I hope to be DF circa 2014! Speak soon x0
