  • Morning peeps .

Glad to see good progress with many of you, good luck to everyone else starting out on a new DMP life :).

Just a quick update: i've still not heard anything from other creditors, and have started to receive letters again demanding payment. I'm not going to let it bother me though. I'll send a token payment with another 'Notification of DMP' letter. Surely someone is reading these letters at the flipping companies!!!???

Made my 1st CCCS payment via online banking, hope it gets to them soon... i'll be watching my bank account like a hawk all day :rotfl:

Finally got my password through the post, so i now have online access to my CCCS account... feel like i'm more in control now :T

It's Friday :T. Have a good day everyone, hope the postman brings some good news for you all

  • Hi Vic
I think it may be 2 pieces of good news cos the sooner your defaults go on your file, the sooner they will come off six years later?? Make sure payroll defo changes your salary as mine forgot to press a button and my salary went to our old account, a sweaty couple of days until it got transferred out and into our new account, definitely an eek moment!

Thanks, yes you could be right. Although doesn't default also mean they'll transfer to a debt collector? This scare me a LOT :eek:

Thankfully the company I work for is v small (only 35 people) and our finance person is awesome, so I'm sure she'll do it in time...it'll still worry me until I see the balance in my new a/c though! ;)

Also - how do you get the CCCS online password? Do they automatically send to you or do I need to request from them?

It just comes in the post, probably a week after welcome pack.
Big hurrah for getting your account up and running. Its an awesome feeling when you see the wage going into that and there is still money in the account, mine used to be swallowed up by my overdraft!

Maybe hovering should become an olympic sport :)

  • Hi All,
I would like to join this thread after stalking it for the 3 weeks. This site has given me the courage to accept my responsiblities and get out of debt. I have contacted the CCCS and they have given me the support I needed to get me started on my debt free journey. Debt free in 2018.
I have a question, when I make my first payment to the post office which will be Monday, how long does it take to get to the CCCS account?

  • welcome, can't help with your question as I pay ours by direct debit but I shouldn't think any more than the normal banking 3/4 days??? Someone will be along in a mo to give the right answer no doubt.

Hi naughtymummy (love the name!) glad u've decided to join us. Um not too sure how long it takes, I paid by cash at the post office and I think it only took a couple of days like pure dead dopey said. CCCS dont make any payments till around the 24th of the month. Hope that helps :)

    Hope this helps.

    Happy Friday, everybody.

Well, we are still in limbo having sent off our DMP and letters.

There's an eery silence from everybody at the moment - with the exception of Egg, whose relentless and consistent attempts to contact us have been nothing short of impressive (thank god for caller ID!). Their calls were predictable to the minute last week, but they've since upped their game with sneaky calls to our house phone AND mobiles at very anti-social times of the day! Gotta applaud their persistance if nothing else!

Having a bit of a wobble today as the bank I attempted to open a new a/c with refused my application. I am currently investigating all of the basic bank account options recommended in our DMP pack (and they are pretty basic...good grief, how did it come to this?!). So: I am currently without a bank account (well, one I can use at any rate) although thank goodness my husband was able to get his safe account opened, up and running.

In the meantime, we have two family birthdays this weekend to get through whilst spending as little cash as possible. Everyone's always presumed (and still do presume) we're quite well off, as all looks well on the surface...so I am preparing myself for the fact that we are suddenly going to look as if we're being very tight! I don't think I'm quite ready to explain the true extent of things just yet at any rate...!

    Have a good weekend, all!
