Hi Jacey
Its a trolley thing in Aldi, they have to wheech it around and sit it at a totally peculier angle to the till, no matter how many times I try it, the checkout operator always tsks at me and changes it, while veryone else in the queue looks at you as if you are daft....which I obviously am as I cannot learn to put a trolley near a checkout at the right angle. Wonder if they have a training course for the checkout operators re the wheeching????More than Two Years in

Morning guys,
Just having a quick coffee before cracking on!
Getting a bit worried coz I've not heard anything from the CAB about making any payments yet, wondering whether I should get hold of CCCS instead, they seem to be a bit more on the ball - what do you guys think?
I remember working in Aldi donkeys years ago and I don't remember them having trolleys back then! I do remember that I had to learn the prices of absolutely everything in the shop because they didn't label anything and they had old fashioned tills! Funny old place that was!Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
Received my welcome pack last night, set up the direct debit today, and things are moving along.
Checked my Halifax cc statement and got 'you are behind, we may take legal action, please call us' bla bla.
They have received notification from me and a token payment for this month.LBM - Jan'10

These 1% amounts, does that mean that overall you need to be paying 1% of your total debt as your DMP payment so that they get 1% each at least? eg if you owe £30.000 you would need pay at least £300 per month for them to accept... have I got that all wrong?
Morning All!
Tedsd I think you're right on the 1%, although I'm not entirely sure. If it is then I should be ok, as I'm paying back beween 1-4% on mine....hmmmmm we'll wait and see.
True - Fab news on the account! Great to get things moving isn't it?
I've had no more news, getting a bit bored waiting...does that sounds really odd!? Lol!
Also, on the Aldi saga, have a look at this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1248340/Ill-discount-Aldi-One-M-S-loyalist-swallows-pride-tries-shopping-Britains-budget-supermarkets.html

Love the Aldi article!
Got a rather confusing letter from Nationwide loans today, kinda think they have agreed to the reduced payment, but it jsut kept going on about being arrears. Which of course I will be??!! Oh and another letter from Egg telling me that I need to rearrange my direct debit, arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!
Apart from that its all pretty quiet. The CCCS site is great, Im looking forward to watching the debt disappear
Tedsd it seems to just be M&S I think that demand at least 1% but I could be wrong. So yes if your balance with them is say £100 then you need to be paying at least a £1 or they will default you. Hope that makes sense.
True glad you got your bank sorted. I tried to shift to HSBC but never heard anything from them so went with A&L. Hope your dd's are easy to change.

I have started a DMP this month and when I went to my Nat West account to check, I have been refused access and as far as I can see all but one account has been closed. I have not heard from them and they gave me no warning that this was going to happen.
What does this mean - are they going to play hard ball now??? I have lukily been ahead of them an opened another bank account and so my payments are going through ok but it still seems so rude and inappropriate to close these account without warning?
Also, how do you ask a CCCS counsellor a direct question?
Thanks

Yikes.... not liking this 1% talk, at the moment we're looking at £276 for £40 500:eek::eek:, so I think that means 0.68%....but will improve when dh get promotion and I find a job too (thinking +ve) both of which we are aiming for in september. Am big scardy pants today, can see so many ways of it going wrong...but we have faced up to our own debt mountain, we are doing what we can at this point in time. Makes me so sad that we've messed up so badly, just by living and having 3 children and there being no affordable childcare.
Just had 7 mins on the phone with a young man a long way away from mbna...:p...saying cccs would only deal with future debts and not past ones?????? Told him I didn't have a clue what he was talking about, he proceeded to say it would be much better for me to give him £600 now:rotfl: and then talk to cccs again... in the end I said I coun't continue the call any longer as I had had to leave my 2 young children alone in another room as the line was so bad and I wasn't able to hear him clearly. He then asked for my cccs number (I'd already given it twice) and went away. Had two days with no calls knew it couldn't last!
Hope everyone's doing better than me today!DMP mutual support thread member 371LBM Jan 2010DMP Paddle No 20 -

Dont panic dont panic.... The 1% thing doesnt apply to your debt as a whole. Just some lenders like you to pay at least 1% of the total balance you owe them. So far only M&S have stipulated this to me. Even so all that happens is that CCCS continue to make the reduced payments, the lender will most likely pass your details to the debt collector, who will ask for whatever. But as has been said sooo many times YOU CAN ONLY PAY WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD !!
Hope that makes you feel a little less :eek::eek:Debt at LBM - £11,505Debt 2011 = [STRIKE]8K[/STRIKE] £7760 - DF in July 2013DMP Paddle no. 1 Sealed Pot No. 1375Grocery Challenge Aug £418.31/£450 Sept £ /£4500 -

Ah Natwest. They are my old current account as well. Ok from what I can tell, they dont give you any warning, but mind you most lenders/banks dont esp if you have online access. Some send a letter telling you they accept your payments, and will block your account. Basically because you have told them you are on a DMP they have the right to put your account on ice IYSWIM. This means you can no longer access it, make withdrawals from it etc. It is the same with credit cards, you can no longer access your online account. Most likely if you do try to log on, then a message will come up saying you have to ring their customer services.
But to be honest, if you have transfered all your direct debits, standing orders etc then you dont need access. And no its not a sign of bad things to come!
I think tedsd answered your question about CCCS.
