aww isis
it will get better. I know how you feel, our friends and family think we're pretty well off too and its quite a strain keeping it all in but I couldn't bear to tell them, it would be too much and not how I want to deal with this. try the Co-op, their cashminder account doesn't require a credit check, they gave us one, so they can't be that fussy!!!
have a good weekend and you are doing really well with Egg, who were lovely once CCCS contacted them initially!More than Two Years in

Yay - just got a letter from Capital One saying they've accepted the DMP proposal and to ignore any debt collection agency letters that might be sent in the interim :T . Must say i'm very surprised... thought they play silly-bug/gers.

Hi NaughtyMummy
My understanding is you should allow 3-4 working days to be on the safe-side. Or you can pay via online banking which is how i did it. CCCS will give you their bank details. Good luck
Isis_79, i had the same thing re the eery silence from the creditors compared to the relentless letters and calls they used to make! It's almost comical! It's like the calm before the storm. Sorry, you're having probs with setting up a bank account, but as pure dead dopey said, try the Co-op cashminder. It's easy to apply for and the co-op are very speedy at setting things up. Best of luck

Oooooh good news on Capital One, they're one of mine so fingers crossed
I know how you feel with the friends/family thing, although I've managed to use 'we're saving to get married' line quite a few times, that seems to work...it's horrible but I couldn't ever face telling them
Hope everyone is having a good dayPaddle No 16

I was thinking of beginning a new thread, this one seems a bit long now.... any suggestions??
Nah, hang on to this one hun - the board guides will tell us when it's too big and time for part 2 :j
Hi Isis - which bit of Cornwall are you in? I'm in 'druth!
I've contacted the CCCS through their Debt Remedy thingy and put in the same figures that the CAB was happy with and CCCS said, everything is far too low and unrealistic  I did say I know, but thats exactly what I've been living on for the past two months and they said, its not good enough use our figures. So fine, did that and now my budget says I don't have enough income to have a DMP!! Don't know what to do now!!

True just re-read your post... OMG!!
Bit lost of the whole CAB story... why u want to change to CCCS? If the figures are so rubbish how you been living these past 2 months? I know when I did it they wouldnt allow my petrol amount, so kinda naughty and just added more to other things. No choice, cant not use the car and cant get cheaper petrol! Have you spoken to them?Debt at LBM - £11,505Debt 2011 = [STRIKE]8K[/STRIKE] £7760 - DF in July 2013DMP Paddle no. 1 Sealed Pot No. 1375Grocery Challenge Aug £418.31/£450 Sept £ /£4500 -

Hi Guys!
Can I join you? Have been through the Debt Remedy thing, received my brown envelope and client reference, completing my forms and getting ready to cancel all Direct Debits as soon as I have my new bank account (which hopefully wont take the two weeks they quoted or I am stuffed!)
Im so excited about getting on this plan and getting rid of this once and for all. Got just under 50k to pay off so here for the long haul!

Good news about Capital One - thanks for sharing (husband and I both have CCs with them too!).
Thank you to everyone who's recommended the Cooperative account! That sounds like a good direction to head in at this point. I shall investigate this weekend!0
