Okay - tomorrow is action day for us, and I'm just planning it all out.

I've seen references to recorded mail - do people use this for token payments? We need to send our DMP pack to National Debtline, then token payments to all our creditors - should it all be recorded?

    Hi VicB,

it's strange isn't it, we want the calls and letters to stop but when they do, we want something to happen...but yes hope it's no news is good news!:)

I know, typical, never satisfied! ;)

My lovely BF having a bit of a nightmare at the moment as he's training to be a Plumber (about to complete NVQ2) and hasn't had any work for weeks (his last boss has completely shafted him!)...unfortunately people are only after fully qualified (NVQ2+), even though he's had 3yrs+ experience. He's getting very frustrated and I'm getting cross because I want us to move out (to rent) in the next 4 months and I'm not convinced that's going to happen.

At least I can save the extra bit we're saving on rent, that's the one good thing. I just REALLY want to live with him and it's not going according to the plan! :(:(

Just feel like I'm finally getting to grips with my life while his is falling apart, he's never had much luck with jobs (if you had a spare week I'd fill you in!).

Anyway, that's my sharing for today...nearly the weekend :j

Rhian, My tokens never went recorded, but I sent cheques so was able to see that they'd received them when they got cashed.

Well I feel as though I am finally starting to make some progress.

My application from Barclays came through to be signed, the letter at first said I couldn't have the account I wanted which made me panic, then when I read further it just stated they won't give me an overdraft! I didn't apply for an overdraft, (even I knew they wouldn't give me that!) just the basic acount so I signed the enclosed form form for a basic account and sent that back. Hopefully I will get a bank account number next week and can start shifting my DD's over.

Sent the first of 5 token offer letters to for a CC. They have cashed the cheque today although not written back; so I am assuming they have accepted the token offer we have made them. Will send the rest off next week as and when they become due.

OH has decided his company will fold and he will join the great unemployed until he can find another job. He didn't employ anyone else so we're not dumping anyone else in the proverbial. In a way this is a relief, at least we know where we stand and he can start claiming job seekers allowance, or whatever he's entitled too. As he hadn't paid himself anything since the start of the year this will actually improve our finances!!

So I think we will pay the token offers for 3 months (did I read somewhere you can now pay token offers for 6 months?) and then start to manage a dmp. I still don't know whether to do our own dmp or go back to CAB. It's just the technical bit of working out how much to offer each company that confuses me!

So I'm at home using a few days holiday I had left to taken before my maternity leave starts officially next week. I've had to go for physio yesterday and now been crutches to walk on as I've strained my back! Can't wait for the next month to be over and done with!

Hope everyone has a good weekend and the weather brightens up over Easter so we can at least get the kids out into the open air and the (free) park.

Thanks Teds, I know we'll get there eventually, sometimes is just feels like the world is against us! :(

I just did something very petty on Facebook but it amused me. There were ads showing for HSBC savings and loans and so I clicked the 'X' and when it asked me why I didn't like the ad I hit 'offensive'...childish and petty I know but it made me feel better! :p
