Yay for the warranty - our car is coming up for its MOT, and hasn't been serviced in ages so needs that as well - dreading the cost. That's pretty much where the money saved by doing the first month of token payments is going to go!

Successful trip into town :-) Have:

Changed DD for contacts, and booked a (free) check up for next week
Bought baby wipes for toddler, paid in Advantage points, so free
Bought three packets of Basics biscuits for a grand total of 88p (husband found 30p in his bag). Stuffing myself with them now as have hardly any food in the house!

And to top it off, my son fell asleep in his buggy on the way home, so I get a bit of breathing space before he wakes up again!

Have you got a KwikFit near you? I had my old car serviced and MOT at the same time and they did a deal, was about £120 for both - might be cheaper than a main dealer for you??

All this talk of contacts have reminded me that me and my boys are due for eye tests, hubby has to be the priority, don't think he's been tested for about 5 years!!

:j yay for sleeping babies and basics biccies!! :j

Hi All, first thank you Tedsd for the template letter, letters now all done and ready to send with token payment. Half way through getting all new dd done with new bank.
Maybe done a silly thing today, in the post was a letter from Mercers acting on behalf of barclaycard telling me i had defaulted and to contact urgent. I phoned not a good thing to do, explained situation and was told in no uncertain terms Barclaycard would not accept my payment or plan with CCCS and had to do it direct with them. Told them no i was taking advise. Women on the other end freaked out at me told me would loose my home etc. scared the life out of me got so upset i hung up on her.So is this the start of the nightmare?

Oh Bailey, firstly, hugs - these people must not sleep at night for scaring people like that. Secondly, she's talking rubbish about loosing your home etc - if you are making regular payments no court in the land will allow that to happen. Thirdly, have you rung the CCCS and told them what they've said? And lastly, please don't call them again, its not worth it, they're mean! Big hugs :grouphug:

Thank you True27 a hug is just what i need. Not phoned anyone else, treating the phone like a hot potatoe at the moment. Guess i just felt scared and started questioning my decision to do this. But i know in my head that this is the only choice left to us and we have to face this. I need to get tough and not let people get to me. It really helps knowing you are all in cyber space with your wisdom and kind words. :o

Ugh, big hugs that sounds awful. We're only just about to start everything so no phone calls yet, dreading them though.

I once had Egg on the phone really aggressively demanding payment as my DD had bounced. I pointed out I'd paid online several days before… "oh yeah, that's okay then." So if that's what they're like normally, can only imagine what they'll be like when this gets going!

Thanks for the tip. At the moment we're asking for recommendations from people at work, then we'll start getting quotes. It's the sort of thing where I'm really worried about getting ripped off!
