  • The HSBC one has been paid this month on the 1st, the M&S one will either wither or get paid if HSBC don't nab it beforehand, should they get the letter from PayPlan about the DMP before it is due on 25th. Luckily the other things come as hard copies and I wrote cheques each month so they are all getting token payments when they come in. (New TV paid with that money, naughty but had to be done)

Changed all my DDs last week and today when I got in I had 9 letters, one from BT asking me to go back to them. Think they send one every month and I've been with Virgin/Telewest for the past 10 years!!! New rent for 2010, the increase has been offset by the Electric going down per month, so semi result. 4 were from the Gas/Electric. "People don't you know what the right and left hand are doing, why can't you send a combined bill and save the postage?" So I suppose the nasty letters/phonecalls will come next month. Thanks for the advice about not cacelling the M&S loan DD, PP had already said don't alert HSBC by cancelling that one.:T

Had a wonderful 8 mile walk though two parks (Bushy and Richmond) and along the river today. Cup of tea and a crumpet with peanut butter as a treat. Work tomorrow:(

:Tsounds like a good day Gibbs, could do with a quiet no stress day, not likely in the near future though:)

Looks like its all under control, got another wee statement from the co-op, they are very good about statements, it appears that tis one is for a fortnight, good for keeping a grip on the old spending ins and outs:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Been trying to have NSD this month and so far have failed miserably, keep needing to buy bread, must be some person stealing in and having three hundred slices of toast on a nightly basis, back to previous plan, sell a large child:rotfl::rotfl:

Hi Getinmyselfoutadebt and welcome! You've come to the right place, very glad we could help :D

HSBC would not be able to take your BF's money to ofset regardless of the joint mortgage because you're not a joint holder of his account. If he's worried though it never hurts to shift bank accounts occasionally - look at Alliance and Leicester offering £100 for new accounts! (and don't forget to go through Quidco for that bit extra :D)

Ditto that over here! What is it with kids and bread?? If its a large child with gardening and car washing experience I bid £2.57 and a large white loaf :D

    Hi Getinyourself

Thanks, we just ramble on about this rollercoaster that we all appear to be on, glad if it helps others, it means some good can come out of misfortune:o

You and your BF don't sound financially linked so they can't touch his pennies for your debts. I would try to suggest that he checks his credit reports just to make sure there is nothing picked up on there, just to be safe. Generally I think its all yours to kick lumps out of over the next couple of years;) Oh and welcome by the way

Done to the mental woman with the basket of carp and chips:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
You have to feed him though and he's very good with car washing, he can drive right up and press all the right buttons in the right order and everything:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hey Jeddy welcome to our little group.

I recieved my Nationwide things fairly quickly. it may take 2 weeks. Have you signed up for online banking if so. i could track to see if the account was open. You could also nip into a branch and ask them to look?
Hope it goes ok with Payplan. :D

    Hi Gabriella!
It came today! So great news, plus Payplan contacted me to say they have contacted all my creditors bar HSBC (my bank account overdraft and loan is with them) so this week I will be mostly transferring DD's over to my new account )the ones that have already come out of my HSBC current account) and sending out token payments. Was also told that I do not need to enclose a letter with my token payments as they will know before they get the payments that I am entering a DMP with Payplan.

One thing they did say though and this could be good advice to anyone starting a DMP, is that make sure you cancel any card protection you have with any of your creditors as this is a big thing that gets added to your credit card statements. I will put a letter requesting this with my token payments.

    It's a rollercoaster allright!

    Good luck everyone! :T

    Hi Jeddy,

Make sure you read up about reclaiming card protection insurance - 9 times out of ten its been mis-sold and might be worth a bob or two. I'm currently attacking CrapOne for it atm so I'll let you know how I get on!
