  • Hi Candypop,
for a start you are NOT sounding dim, the whole thing is daunting in the start.

I was never asked to send in my payslips so can't help with that. For the creditors the CCCS need the most upto date statement so they can get the totals right for each creditor. copies are fine. i also sent a online statement for one of my credit cards and that was fine.

Send your token payment with the DMP notification letter and April is fine. It should all be set up by then. When you send your DMP letter off take copies, do not sign just digitally print your name and send recorded delivery.

Hope everything goes well for you. Any questions fire away:D

Hi thanks very much for your help and advice. I will send the CCCS copies of everything I'm sure it will all be fine. Did you send postal orders as your token payment?

    Hi

How gernerous you all are. I mean in terms of support and encouragement.

Im curious however about the following which i have asked on the cccs councillor thread but not had a response yet.

I get paid on the 20th March and my creditors all require payment on or around the 28th March. However i will be paying my £624 to the CCCS on the 1st April as required but they will not be distributing it to my creditors until the 25th April, so my creditors will be getting money a month late OR missing a months payment depending on which way you look at it.

What do you suggest? I cant afford to pay them and send £624 to the CCCS from the same pay packet.

Also, i have the forms i need to send to each of my creditors informing them ive entered into a DMP. Would you attach a letter explaining how i got into debt, that im paying as much as i can, and requesting all future correspondence be in writing?

I also wondered if it would be worth explaining that Bankruptcy is not an option as i would instantly lose my job and then have no income at all. And given i have no assets they would get none of their money back. And that an IVA, although a bigger benefit to me, would see them write off a lot of what i owe them. Hence why a DMP is in everyones best interests?

    What do you think

Hi Cam I am in the same situation as you. I received my letter from CCCS on friday so have been trying to work out what I need to do re token payments etc. and what to put on my DMP notification to my creditors about why I am in this situation apart for being totally stupid for the past 10 years. It all feels pretty scary doesnt it but deep down I know its the best thing to do.

    Hi all

I feel much better now ive had some guidance and clarified the remaining points that kept causing me to doubt my decision. So thank you.

Candypop - i know what you mean. We know what we have to do AND that we have no other choice, yet still it scares the hell out of us. If only id been so apprehensive about using my credit cards!!!!!!!!!!!

Its strange because the dmp will put me a much better situation than im in now but i still feel so nervous. Im usually a really positive person but in this situation i cant help thinking about the negatives and what might go wrong.

Im filling in the forms to my creditors ready to post off tomorrow. Fingers crossed for us both that it goes ok.

everything crossed Cam, and for you Candypop.

I haven't felt this financially positive for many years, we had money in the bank at the end of the month:T(not a lot but it was real money, not what was left of the overdraft) and we've just paid the vast majority of our priorities DDs and our CCCS payment and I've got money in the account again:T:T:T

Go for it girls and the Prof:(

  • Ted, we had this rubbish with Cap One as well, going around in circles, its just a delaying tactic I think. We did phone them, it was the OH's account and we went around in more circles. I say a letter on one of the threads which told them off beautifully, I think it was from Dark Convict? might be worth having a look and sending it off? I meant to but haven't got round to it yet, what with my extra new job as chief debt sorter out to the OH, could do with a secretary for all the filing!!!! Good luck and let me know if you find it

Its the chorizo!! Ever since it was mentioned, I can't stop thinking about it!! And I really have to see what the trolley thing is all about lol

Saw my CPN for a review on Friday and she even said that she hardly recognises me from the wreck of a person that she encountered a year ago! Long may it continue :D
