Hi all, received in post today my letter from CCCS. Can anyone tell me if they need originals of payslips (how many months) benefit letters and CC statements or are copies okay. Also the included notification of DMP form which I have to send to creditors what month do I say my DMP will start I am right in assuming April. Shall I send my token payment with the notification form or separately. Sorry for sounding dim but you guys all seem to be really helpful to each other.

Also received in post my Coop card freaked out as it had visa debit all over it but calmed done once I realised it was nothing to worry about and wasnt a devil card

Anyway will start hunting out paperwork fingers crossed I find everything. hope you all have relaxing weekend.

    Hi Candypop,
for a start you are NOT sounding dim, the whole thing is daunting in the start.

I was never asked to send in my payslips so can't help with that. For the creditors the CCCS need the most upto date statement so they can get the totals right for each creditor. copies are fine. i also sent a online statement for one of my credit cards and that was fine.

Send your token payment with the DMP notification letter and April is fine. It should all be set up by then. When you send your DMP letter off take copies, do not sign just digitally print your name and send recorded delivery.

Hope everything goes well for you. Any questions fire away:D

    Hi All

Ive got my CCCS paperwork sitting here and still debating whether to send it back or not. I need to. Im just so worried.

What if my creditors dont accept it and one of them petitions for me to be made bankrupt. In my job, bankrupcy is a sackable offence. Seriously. Your gone.

Added to which my debts total £36,000. I know it will take me a while to pay it back at £624 per month but thats fine. At least there would be a light at the end of the tunnel. Even if its a very long tunnel!!!!!

Its the "what if they dont accept it" that worries me?

Have everyones experiences been gennerally positive?

Someone kick me up the backside please.

Cameron, £36k at £624 a month, thats over 1.5% a month, can't see any of your creditors having a problem with that.

well done True, look at it like this you could be a Scottish rugby supporter, how we have suffered:eek::eek:

prof pat, are you our man isn't really peculiar if we are all women, why are all of the OHs sitting there, and why are we doing all the stressing?

Cameron the team are right, these are goodly amounts, a lot more that we can produce.

Gibbs, How is the telly, seem to remember the problem was holding the dam huge thing up while you were footering about at the back with wires and things, I just bailed and let DS and OH deal.

having a nice quiet Sunday, not spending any money and OH has cooked a speciality Sunday treat, will report back later on that:rotfl::rotfl:

Have a lovely Sunday everyone, I love Sundays:T

  • Hi

How gernerous you all are. I mean in terms of support and encouragement.

Im curious however about the following which i have asked on the cccs councillor thread but not had a response yet.

I get paid on the 20th March and my creditors all require payment on or around the 28th March. However i will be paying my £624 to the CCCS on the 1st April as required but they will not be distributing it to my creditors until the 25th April, so my creditors will be getting money a month late OR missing a months payment depending on which way you look at it.

What do you suggest? I cant afford to pay them and send £624 to the CCCS from the same pay packet.

Also, i have the forms i need to send to each of my creditors informing them ive entered into a DMP. Would you attach a letter explaining how i got into debt, that im paying as much as i can, and requesting all future correspondence be in writing?

I also wondered if it would be worth explaining that Bankruptcy is not an option as i would instantly lose my job and then have no income at all. And given i have no assets they would get none of their money back. And that an IVA, although a bigger benefit to me, would see them write off a lot of what i owe them. Hence why a DMP is in everyones best interests?

    What do you think

    Whoa Cam

First of all just send a token payment for March, £1 to each creditor will be fine, on Postal Order along with your letter from CCCS telling them you are entering into a DMP. CCCS will take it from there and your first payment will go to them in April, so they are only having tokens for a month. Everyone does this, it gives you a breathing space to get the DMP set up and running. The dopey one here, sent full mins and it didn't make a bit of difference to the way we were treated, so send £1s and put the rest in your emergency fund. There is no need to give excuses to the creditors, CCCS will tell them you situation in general terms, I think in dealing with creditors, less is more, keep your powder dry for now. We are in a similar position, this DMP must work or they simply won't get their money, a lot of people are in the same boat so the creditors are not daft, they know that a DMP could be their best option. 8 of our cc debts were accepted by creditors without even a phone call, we only knew when the next statement arrived. So it will be fine and if you have to tell off a few creditors, we are here with the moral support and the wacko biscuits!!!!!:T

    Hi everyone and welcome Cam

First of all well done for taking the leap :jIn answer to your questions I would send a small (£1-10) token payment to all your creditors (except your current account if you have debts with them) along with your notification letter. You dont need to send any other correspondance explaining your situation. There is a box on the form, put your reason in there and you're sorted! The token payment will fill the gap between now and your DMP starting. Thats the normal recommended route, as its daft trying to make the minimums when you cant afford it. Hope that helps :D

Mamajojo oh the swimming was horrid, afte two kids no one needs to see me in the buff :o Not sure you could call my DS's attempts swimming but he does move under the water, pretty cool to watch, esp as hes only 8 months!
